Symptoms of fungal vaginitis

Symptoms of fungal vaginitis

When it comes to gynecological diseases such as candidal vaginitis, I believe many female friends are not very familiar with it. In fact, candidal vaginitis is mainly a disease caused by fungal infection, but it may also be caused by other reasons. In short, candidal vaginitis requires timely medical attention and treatment, otherwise it will only delay the disease and miss the best treatment period. So what are the symptoms of fungal vaginitis?

In fact, the symptoms of candidal vaginitis are quite obvious, and generally careful female friends can easily discover such symptoms. These include: vulvar itching, even painful urination, increased vaginal discharge, etc. In severe cases, it can also lead to irregular menstruation and amenorrhea. Below I will give you a detailed introduction to the disease of fungal vaginitis.

Symptoms of fungal vaginitis

1. Itching and burning sensation of the vulva and vagina, painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various changes in the epidermis; very shallow vesicles and papules may occur and appear in groups.

2. It may also form eczematous erosions, which are limited to the vulva or extend to the perineum, around the anus and femoral genital folds, and even to the inner and outer thighs, which is completely similar to acute or subacute eczema; the mucous membranes near the labia and clitoris are thickened, and the skin surfaces that contact each other are flushed and eroded; in some cases, tiny white pustules may occur, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymph node enlargement may occur.

3. Increased vaginal discharge. Typical symptoms are typical curd-like or flaky, sticky vaginal discharge. The vaginal mucosa is highly red and swollen, with white flaky films (such as thrush) adhering and easily peeling off. Underneath is an eroded base of damaged mucosa or a shallow ulcer. In severe cases, ecchymosis may remain, with severe itching and burning sensation. During pregnancy, the itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis are more severe.

4. Patients may also experience vaginal burning, which worsens during urination, and may even cause urinary pain and sexual intercourse pain.

Menstrual disorders are common gynecological diseases and are caused by a variety of reasons. Abnormal menstrual regulation mechanism leads to a series of symptoms such as hirsutism, obesity, infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea, and polycystic enlargement of both ovaries, which are shaped like grapes. This is medically known as polycystic ovary syndrome.

The cause of PCOS is still unclear. It is currently believed that it may be related to endocrine dysfunction and hypothalamic-pituitary imbalance: due to mental stress, drug effects, and certain diseases, the hypothalamus loses its periodicity in secreting gonadotropin-releasing hormone, resulting in an imbalance in the proportion of gonadotropin secreted by the pituitary gland, causing the follicles to develop but not mature and not ovulate, becoming cystic follicles. Over time, many cystic follicles are generated, and finally the ovaries form grape-shaped polycystic ovaries.

Regarding the symptoms of candidal vaginitis, experts tell us that the symptoms of this type of disease are relatively obvious, and the harmfulness of this type of disease is very large. In severe cases, it can easily lead to polycystic ovary syndrome and even eventually lead to infertility. Therefore, if women find themselves having symptoms suspected of candidal vaginitis, they should seek medical attention in time to avoid worsening of the disease and lifelong regret.
