Purulent tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is a very common disease in our lives, especially when we have a cold, many friends will suffer from tonsillitis. Clinically, tonsillitis is divided into different types according to its symptoms. Among them, purulent tonsillitis is the most serious harm to the human body. If the symptoms of purulent tonsillitis are severe, the entire tonsils may even become purulent.

The onset of purulent tonsillitis is generally acute. If a child suffers from this disease, it will seriously affect the child's life. In order to minimize the harm caused by purulent tonsillitis to the human body, first of all, please understand the symptoms of purulent tonsillitis.

Clinical manifestations: The incubation period is about 3-4 days. Throat pain starts on one side, followed by obvious pain in both sides of the pharynx, and the pain worsens when swallowing. The patient has symptoms such as general malaise, aversion to cold, fever, and pain in the limbs. In addition, some patients may experience ipsilateral ear pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Examination revealed congestion in the pharynx, redness and swelling of the tonsils, purulent exudate on the surface, which could be connected into pieces like pseudomembranes, but were easy to wipe off without leaving bleeding wounds. The lymph nodes under the mandibular angle on both sides are often swollen and painful. May cause fever.

The main pathogens are beta-hemolytic streptococci, Staphylococci, and Pneumococcus. Adenovirus can also cause this disease. Mixed bacterial and viral infections are also common. The bacteria may be invaded from the outside or hidden in the tonsil crypts. When the body's resistance is suddenly reduced due to cold, humidity, excessive fatigue, physical weakness, excessive smoking and drinking, and stimulation from harmful gases, the bacterial reproduction is enhanced. Sometimes it is a prodromal symptom of acute infectious diseases, such as measles and scarlet fever. Acute tonsillitis is often a repeated acute attack based on chronic tonsillitis.

This article introduces the symptoms of purulent tonsillitis and its pathogens. I hope that you can take good care of preventing purulent tonsillitis in your daily life and avoid the chance of contracting it. Especially for children, parents must pay attention to their children's physical exercise and try to reduce the number of colds they catch.
