Candidal vulvovaginitis

Candidal vulvovaginitis

For women who have started sexual life, the most important thing to pay attention to on a daily basis is the cleanliness of private parts. However, if the cleaning is excessive, it will also lead to vaginitis. Speaking of vaginitis, the biggest feeling people have is repeated attacks, especially Candidal vulvovaginitis, which not only recurs during treatment, but also has a greater impact on patients.

In fact, many gynecological inflammations do not have very obvious symptoms. For example, many patients with cervical erosion will not show any symptoms in the early stages. However, Candidal vulvovaginitis is different. It has very typical symptoms and has a great impact on the patient's life.

Symptoms and signs of candidal infection include vulvar itching, increased vaginal discharge that is a cheesy, white, sticky discharge, and sometimes vulvar swelling and a burning sensation. During the examination, scratches can be seen on the vulva, surface plaques, and patchy thick secretions distributed on the vaginal wall and cervix. Sometimes there is dysuria and pyuria.

Candida albicans can cause a variety of diseases in humans, but it can usually live peacefully in many parts of the body, such as the vagina. Even some men and women with a history of promiscuous sex may not necessarily develop the disease, they are just latent sources of infection. Infection only occurs when certain changes in the body environment make it suitable for the proliferation of Candida albicans. For example, diabetes, oral contraceptives, drugs (systemic broad-spectrum antibiotic treatment, estrogen therapy, abuse of immunosuppressants), pregnancy and food can all be causes of infection.

With the exception of antibiotics, these factors increase the glycogen content of the vagina, providing a necessary source of carbohydrates for Candida to multiply. For example, when a woman is pregnant, the sugar content in the vaginal epithelium is higher, and the estrogen secreted from the placental villi is also higher. Vaginal congestion, vigorous secretion, soft epithelium and moist vulva promote the growth of Candida albicans.

After learning some knowledge about candidal vulvovaginitis, female friends, if you want to completely cure candidal vulvovaginitis, you must let your sexual partner receive treatment together during the treatment, because Candida is contagious. If one of the spouses is infected, the other also needs to be treated to avoid cross infection.
