Pityrosporum folliculitis

With the continuous improvement of modernization, people's living standards are also constantly improving, people's quality of life is also constantly improving, people's lifestyles are also constantly changing, people's eating habits are also constantly changing, people's physical health is also constantly changing, and this Pityrosporum folliculitis is one of them.

As for this kind of pityrosporum folliculitis, it is actually quite common in society, but people don't need to worry too much about it. Medical technology is relatively advanced nowadays. The following is some information about this kind of pityrosporum folliculitis.

Symptoms and signs

Subjective symptoms include varying degrees of itching, often accompanied by burning and tingling. Sweating after exercise or bathing can aggravate the itching. This disease is more common in young and middle-aged people, with an average age of onset around 30 years old. Both men and women can be affected, but men are more likely to be affected than women. There are also reports that females outnumber males.

This disease often occurs in areas rich in sebaceous glands, such as the upper back, chest, shoulders, and neck. It is rarely seen on the forearms, calves, and face, and sometimes on the abdomen. The lesions are diffuse or scattered and are mostly symmetrical. The rash is dome-shaped red papules with follicular pustules in between, from which powdery material can be squeezed out. There is a blush around it. Patients who take corticosteroids or broad-spectrum antibiotics for a long time are prone to this disease. This disease is often complicated by tinea versicolor and facial acne. It is common in patients with hyperhidrosis, oily skin, and seborrheic dermatitis.

Don’t think that a minor case of Pityrosporum folliculitis is not a big deal. It would be a big mistake to take the disease lightly because you don’t pay attention to the psychological aspect. Pityrosporum folliculitis can recur and form chronic folliculitis. If it occurs on the scalp, it can cause permanent hair loss. If it occurs on the nape, the lesions appear as papillary hyperplasia or form scars and nodules, which are difficult to cure.

Pityrosporum folliculitis can develop deeper and cause perifolliculitis, called furunculosis. Multiple and recurrent furuncles are called furunculosis. In severe cases, there may be swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, and even sepsis or septicemia. If the furunculosis located in the nose, mouth and lips is squeezed, the bacteria can enter the skull through the blood, causing suppurative thrombophlebitis or brain abscess, which can lead to death.

Through the above understanding and introduction, I believe everyone can have a certain understanding of this kind of Pityrosporum folliculitis. At the same time, I also hope that everyone can be helped by the above knowledge. At the same time, I also hope that everyone can do more exercises suitable for themselves in daily life, and eat more healthy green vegetables. This is better.
