Is there a connection between nosebleed and cerebral hemorrhage?

There are many reasons for nose bleeding, the most common ones are getting angry, picking your nose too much, strong blow to the nose, etc. Normally we pay attention to our diet, often drink herbal tea, and cool ourselves down in time. Once the nose bleeds, some people think that splashing water on the forehead will disfigure the face, but this is not always true.

Sometimes, the elderly will have nosebleeds when they suffer from high blood pressure. Once the nosebleed occurs, you must remain calm, stabilize the elderly's emotions, and let him relax so that his blood pressure will not soar. If high blood pressure occurs, it may cause a blood vessel in the brain to rupture, which may threaten the elderly's life.

In fact, there are many reasons for nosebleeds, and bleeding at the back of the nasal cavity is more common in middle-aged and elderly people over 40 years old and is often related to high blood pressure. It is reported that hypertension is the cause of 10% to 25% of nosebleeds. Hypertension is also the most important independent risk factor for stroke. Therefore, the intrinsic connection between nosebleed and stroke that needs attention is hypertension.

Repeated nosebleeds in elderly and hypertensive patients are a precursor to cerebral hemorrhage. The reason is that the blood vessels in the nasal cavity of the elderly are hardened. When the blood pressure rises but before the cerebral blood vessels rupture, a blood vessel in the nasal cavity will rupture and cause nosebleeds. Therefore, elderly people with hypertension and arteriosclerosis should be particularly vigilant once nosebleeds occur to prevent cerebral hemorrhage.

Hypertensive nosebleeds often occur in the early morning or after activities, and the blood pressure of these patients is easily affected by mental and environmental changes. Because the bleeding site is in the posterior nasal cavity, and the blood pressure is very high, the blood vessels are inelastic, and the bleeding is often severe, making it difficult to stop the bleeding on your own. Some patients will become nervous when they see heavy bleeding, which will increase their blood pressure and lead to continuous bleeding. Therefore, for elderly patients with nosebleeds, they should be comforted and asked to relax, remain calm, and spit out the blood in their mouths as much as possible to avoid irritating the stomach after swallowing and causing vomiting, which would aggravate the nosebleed. And send to the hospital in time for hemostasis, blood pressure reduction and other treatments.

We must always pay attention to the elderly. The physical skills of the elderly are basically far inferior to those of us young people. Their bodies are basically in a state of decline. Pay attention to changes in blood pressure. The health of an elderly person is basically reflected in blood pressure. As long as there is a large fluctuation, take emergency measures immediately.
