Asthma patients are no different from normal people when they are not having an attack. Nursing care for asthma patients

1. Diet adjustment

When asthma patients have an acute attack, it is better to eat liquid or semi-liquid food, with light and delicious seasoning, and avoid cold drinks and cold food. Eat small meals frequently and don't overeat. Many attacks are caused by overeating. Patients with acute attacks, especially those with continuous attacks for a long time, often lose a lot of water due to sweating, which can easily make the sputum sticky and difficult to cough up, blocking the airway. It aggravates respiratory tract infection and makes wheezing symptoms difficult to relieve.

Therefore, it is important to pay attention to timely and sufficient water replenishment, and daily drinking of 2,000 ml or even more is encouraged. If conditions permit, appropriate intravenous infusion should be given. During an attack, avoid eating fish or seafood, especially foods that have caused asthma before.

2. Build confidence and eliminate pessimism

Eliminate mental stress and adjust the psychological state. Many asthma patients have a heavy mental burden due to frequent attacks, especially children who have developed a fear of the disease. Try to eliminate their misunderstandings and pessimism about the disease as much as possible. Patients should understand the causes and triggering factors of asthma, take care to avoid them in daily life, adhere to medical exercise and correct medication, and they may be able to avoid frequent asthma attacks.

Asthma patients should avoid growing flowers, grass or keeping pets at home in their daily life. These are important allergens, especially pets. Open windows frequently to ensure air circulation, dry bedding once a week, and keep the room warm in winter. Asthma patients are particularly sensitive to cold, and cold will aggravate attacks.
