Verbena tea benefits and effects

Lemon verbena is a popular tea recipe for slimming waist, abdomen and calves in recent years. It is mainly used to help people who sit for a long time. How to consume verbena tea

1. Prepare the tea with boiling water immediately. Place the scented tea in a container and prepare it with boiling water above 90°C immediately so that the fragrance and essence can be released.

2. 15 grams of safflower, 20 grams of verbena, and 15 grams of white sugar. Wash and soak the safflower, wash the verbena, and cut it into 3 cm long segments. Put safflower and verbena into a stew pot, add 250ml of water, bring to a boil over low heat, then simmer for 25 minutes. Filter out the residue, add in white sugar and stir. Drink as tea. Regular consumption can promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis and relieve pain, clear away heat and reduce fire, facilitate urination and relieve itching. It is suitable for hepatitis B patients with symptoms such as difficulty urinating in spring.

3. 20 grams of lemongrass and 20 grams of verbena. Add 500-1000ml of boiling water to one teaspoon of lemongrass and one teaspoon of verbena.

The role and efficacy of verbena

The vaccine has the effects of clearing away heat, detoxifying, promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, promoting dampness and reducing swelling. It can treat exogenous fever, cold and damp jaundice, edema, dysentery, dengue fever, diphtheria, laryngeal paralysis, gonorrhea, liver depression and kidney deficiency, abdominal masses, carbuncles, sores and tooth decay.

1. Treatment of dengue fever: Take 60-150g of fresh verbena (decreased the amount of dried slices), boil it in water to make about 300ml, take it once 4 hours and 2 hours before the onset of the disease, for 2-4 days, and use 15g of dried slices of wolfberry each time (reduce the amount for children), 1 dose per day, decocted in water and taken in 2 doses, for 6 days. 48 hours after the symptoms of the 33 patients subsided, blood tests for malarial parasites turned negative, with an efficiency of 92%.

2. Treatment of diphtheria: Take 30 grams of dried verbena (wolfstalk grass) and boil it into about 300 ml. Adults: 150 ml each time, twice a day; children 8-14 years old: 100 ml each time, twice a day; children under 8 years old: 50 ml each time, 3-4 times a day. Take it continuously for 3-5 days. 50 cases of diphtheria were treated and all were cured. The average fever reduction time after taking the medicine was 15.3 hours, the pseudomembrane disappeared in 2.2 days, the throat swab test turned negative in 2.4 days, and the average hospitalization time was 4.6 days.

3. Treatment of infectious hepatitis: Take 500 grams of verbena into 800 ml of decoction, 40-50 ml for adults and 20-30 ml for children, take it 3 times a day, a total of 80 cases were treated. 77 cases were cured, 2 cases had significant effects, and 1 case had no effect. The average time for jaundice to disappear was 15 days, various gastrointestinal symptoms disappeared within 3 to 12 days, 72 cases of hepatosplenomegaly shrank within 14 to 35 days, and 79 cases recovered within 10 to 30 days after liver function tests and transaminase tests. The average length of hospitalization was 23.6 days.

4. To treat influenza: use 30 grams of verbena, 15 grams each of green sedge and notopterygium wilfordii, and make a soak for oral administration. Take 1 dose per day, divided into 2 doses, or grind into powder and add wheat flour to make tea for consumption. 51 cases were followed up after taking the medicine, 46 were cured, 3 were effective, and 2 were ineffective.

6. Treatment of filariasis: Verbena officinalis was used as the main ingredient, in combination with perilla leaf and green caltrop, to treat 81 patients with filariasis who had positive blood test but no obvious clinical symptoms. After one course of treatment, the microfilariae negative conversion rate reached 90%. After 45 days, the negative conversion rate was 81.4%. 30g of verbena, 15g of perilla leaves, 12g of green grass, add water and bring to a boil, extract to 50-80ml, take 1 dose per day, twice a day on an empty stomach, morning and evening. For children aged 1 to 10 and 11 to 15, the dosage is about 1/3 and 2/3 of the total dosage for adults, and one treatment course is 10 consecutive days. There are no serious side effects after taking the medicine. Only a very small number of patients experience nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting and abdominal pain, which can be recovered on their own.

7. Treatment of schistosomiasis: There are reports of using verbena powder or pills for oral administration, 3 times a day, 1 pill each time (each pill contains 3 grams of verbena). 8 to 10 days is a course of treatment. It has a certain effect in the treatment of early, middle and late stage schistosomiasis. Some cases have negative results after defecation follow-up.

Note: Pregnant women should be careful when taking verbena. Verbena is a poisonous plant listed in the Chinese Plant Atlas Database by Baidu. Verbena is poisonous. Chinese herbal preparations can treat dengue fever, diphtheria, influenza, etc. Some people experience nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting and abdominal pain after taking verbena.
