What is the method of scraping for fever

I believe many people understand the benefits of scraping. Gua Sha is a relatively traditional way of health preservation. It can not only help us get rid of wind and cold, but also help us improve our own immunity. Gua Sha is a method of scraping with a tool with smooth edges, which will cause the body to turn red and then produce sha. Many people want to scrape when they have a fever, so let's take a look at the methods and precautions of scraping when you have a fever.

When you have a fever, scraping is used to treat the fever, mainly on the back and upper limbs. Before scraping, apply scraping oil (lubricants such as safflower oil, wine and massage lotion can be used) on your upper limbs and the entire back. The specific method is as follows: 1. Scrape the center first. Hold the scraping board and scrape from the Dazhui point in the middle of the spine to the Mingmen point, focusing on the Fengchi and Dazhui points. 2. Scrape both sides again. Scrape from the Dazhui point downwards to the Feishu point. 3. Then scrape the Quchi and Hegu points on both sides). 4. If fever is accompanied by swelling and pain in the head and neck, scraping the Waiguan and Lieque points can be added. After scraping, it is best to drink a cup of hot water to help expel toxins from the body. Gua Sha fever reduction is suitable for people of all ages (including infants over 3 months old). Because the skin of infants and young children is very delicate, the force should be light during the scraping process, and it is only necessary to scrape the skin until it flushes. For adults, scraping should stop when purple spots and ecchymosis appear under the skin.

Precautions for scraping. 1. During scraping treatment, you should pay attention to keeping the room warm, especially avoiding cold and drafts in winter. When scraping in summer, avoid direct exposure of fans to the scraping area. 2. Avoid taking a cold shower within 30 minutes after scraping. 3. It is not advisable to scrape the same area again before the sha spots on the area from the previous scraping treatment have disappeared. The next scraping session should be done 3-6 days apart, until the sha on the skin disappears. 4. It is best to drink a cup of warm water (preferably light sugar and salt water) after scraping and rest for 15-20 minutes.

Therefore, we must pay attention to keeping warm when scraping. It is recommended to scrape in a relatively warm room to avoid catching a cold. Be sure to drink more water after scraping, so that we can effectively replenish the water our body needs. Drinking more water can also help us eliminate toxins in the body.
