Causes and treatment options for swollen parotid lymph nodes

Clinically, once people are diagnosed with parotid lymphadenopathy in their family, they should learn more about the causes of parotid lymphadenopathy. So, what are the causes of parotid lymphadenopathy?

Causes of swollen parotid lymph nodes:

For patients with swollen lymph nodes and itchy skin, allergy or Hodgkin's disease should be considered; for patients with local lymph node enlargement accompanied by low fever, night sweats, and weight loss, it may be lymph node tuberculosis, malignant lymphoma, or other malignant tumors; for patients with swollen lymph nodes and periodic fever, it is more common in malignant lymphoma; for patients with systemic lymph node enlargement accompanied by fever, bleeding, and anemia, it is mainly seen in various leukemias, advanced lymphomas, etc., and occasionally in systemic lupus erythematosus.

When the condition of swollen lymph nodes is complicated and difficult to diagnose directly, it is necessary to comprehensively consider examinations such as X-rays, pathological sections, B-ultrasound and CT to find out the cause and make a clear diagnosis. When the lymph nodes are swollen, the primary disease must be found and treated. Swollen lymph nodes are not a disease of a single lymph node itself, but often mean that the organs within its range have inflammation or other lesions. Therefore, when patients come to see doctors for swollen lymph nodes, doctors will ask and check whether the patients have lesions in other surrounding tissues, and look for the primary lesions according to the lymph node drainage area. By "following the clues" and comprehensive analysis, the disease hiding behind will be exposed.

Treatment:

Bone marrow puncture + other

In clinical practice, in order to accurately determine the clinical stage of malignant lymphoma and formulate treatment plans, doctors also routinely perform whole-body and bone marrow puncture examinations before the first treatment. New examination methods, such as PET/CT, play an important role in the diagnosis of malignant lymphoma.
