What are the little red spots on the tip of my tongue? What diseases are they?

The mouth can be said to help people understand and enjoy life because it helps them taste the flavor of life. The sense of taste is mainly based on the tongue. Chinese medicine emphasizes observation, smell, questioning and palpation, which includes observing the patient's tongue. So what may be the cause of the small red spots on the tongue?

1. Candidiasis: Candidiasis is the most common oral manifestation of AIDS. In high-risk populations such as those with a history of promiscuous sex, drug abuse, or intravenous blood transfusion, oral candidiasis is a precursor to the development of AIDS in the future; if healthy young people or adults without any predisposing factors (referring to those with no history of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, long-term use of hormones or antibiotics, and no diseases excluding those with low immune function) have oral candidiasis in the mouth, especially erythematous candidiasis of the cheek or pseudomembranous candidiasis of the pharynx and soft palate, they should be highly vigilant as oral manifestations of AIDS.

2. Hairy leukoplakia on the tongue: Hairy leukoplakia is now widely recognized as a different oral condition in people infected with AIDS. It is highly suggestive of the occurrence of AIDS, and other diseases rarely cause hairy leukoplakia.

According to the doctor's advice, the small red spots on the tongue are not the physiological characteristics of any disease, but the normal structure of the tongue. The physiological explanation of the small red spots is the filiform papillae, which is a structure unique to the tongue. So there is no need to worry about the many small red spots on the tongue. It is certainly not AIDS as everyone suspects.
