After giving birth, I realized that ten months of pregnancy is not the end of the story, and my body still needs to be carefully cared for after delivery. A new mother said, "You can't lose any knowledge of postpartum care. A little negligence can cause endless harm to your body. So what is pelvic varicose veins?

What you need to know about pelvic varicose veins

1. What is postpartum pelvic varicose veins? What are the symptoms?

Pelvic varicose veins refer to a condition in which long-term congestion in the pelvis causes loss of elasticity of the blood vessel walls, poor blood flow, and varicose veins.

Mothers with pelvic varicose veins may experience abdominal pain, increased leucorrhea, lochia and other symptoms. Sometimes they may also experience bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency, or hemorrhoids.

2. What kind of people are prone to pelvic varicose veins?

Pelvic varicose veins is actually a relatively common disease, with the common age of onset being between 30 and 50 years old, and the chance of occurrence in mothers of two children is higher than in mothers of one child.

However, even if you are a first-time mother, if you sit for a long time after giving birth and do little exercise, and often suffer from constipation, you may also develop varicose veins in the pelvis.

3. Is it difficult to treat pelvic varicose veins?

Those with mild symptoms can be relieved through postpartum conditioning and physical exercise, but if the symptoms are severe, surgical treatment may be required. It is best not to guess whether you have pelvic varicose veins. You should go to the hospital for examination and let the doctor judge the severity of the condition.

How to relieve and prevent pelvic varicose veins

Regarding pelvic varicose veins, it is more common among postpartum women, so it is recommended that new mothers learn more about prevention and treatment methods. Prevention and treatment measures are not troublesome and are also beneficial to postpartum recovery.

1. Prevent constipation: Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits after delivery, and make the food soft. If you are already constipated, drinking a glass of warm honey water early in the morning can help relieve constipation symptoms.

2. Anal contraction exercise: When standing, sitting or walking, you can lift your anus upwards whenever you have time, then relax it, then lift it up again, lift and relax it, repeat the cycle. Do it about 50 times each time.

3. Abdominal massage: If pelvic congestion is confirmed, you can use your palms to perform circular massage on the lower abdomen in both directions every day, and at the same time massage the coccyx up and down, twice a day, 10-15 times each time.

4. Pay attention to bed rest for 1-2 days after delivery: Do not squat, stand or sit for a long time after delivery. It is best to lie down if you feel uncomfortable. When lying in bed, lie on your side. Whenever possible, bed rest should be in the head-down, feet-up position.

5. Preventive exercises: Hold the edge of the table or bed with your hands, put your feet together and do squats and standing exercises, twice a day, 5-10 times each time.
