Prescription: Pinellia, Poria, Atractylodes, Arisaema, Gardenia, Gastrodia, Salvia, Tangerine Peel, Citrus aurantium, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Polygala, Acorus, Paeonia lactiflora, Pheretima, Scorpion, Morus alba, Millettia reticulata, and Licorice. ② Phlegm-heat and bowel-excess syndrome Main symptoms: hemiplegia, crooked mouth and tongue, slurred speech or aphasia, numbness of one side of the body or one limb, abdominal distension and dry stool and constipation, dizziness, coughing up sputum or excessive sputum, dark red tongue with yellow or greasy yellow tongue coating, and wiry and slippery pulse. Treatment method: Clear the bowels, relieve heat and resolve phlegm. Prescription: Xinglou Chengqi Decoction with modifications. The tongue is red or crimson, the tongue coating is thin yellow, and the pulse is stringy and strong. Treatment method: Clear the liver and purge fire, extinguish wind and unclog the meridians. Prescription: Tianma Gou Teng Drink with modifications. Drug composition: Gastrodia elata, Uncaria rhynchophylla, Semen Cassiae, Cyathula officinalis, Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides, Poria cocos, Prunella vulgaris, Chrysanthemum, White Peony Root, Scorpion, Earthworm, Licorice. (2) Middle organs ① Phlegm-fire internal stasis syndrome Main symptoms: sudden onset, coma or confusion, hemiplegia, snoring and sputum, stiffness and cramps of limbs, fever in the neck and back, restlessness, even cold hands and feet, convulsions of limbs, dry stool and urinary retention, red tongue, dry and greasy yellow tongue coating, and rapid and slippery pulse. Treatment method: Clear away heat and resolve phlegm, awaken the mind and open the orifices. Prescription: Antelope Horn Decoction with modifications combined with oral or nasogastric administration of Angong Niuhuang Pills. Drug ingredients: antelope horn powder, mother of pearl, bamboo shavings, rhizoma jasminoides, calamus, polygala, curcuma, selfheal, moutan bark, and licorice. ②Syndrome of Phlegm-Dampness Obstructing the Mind Main symptoms: Yang deficiency and internal accumulation of dampness and phlegm. Acute onset, coma, hemiplegia, loose limbs, limp and cold, even cold limbs, pale face and dark lips, excessive phlegm, dark tongue, greasy white tongue coating, and a deep and slippery pulse or a deep and slow pulse. Treatment method: Clear phlegm and extinguish wind, use pungent and warm herbs to open the orifices. Prescription: Di Tan Tang with modifications combined with oral administration or nasogastric feeding of Suhexiang pills. Drug composition: Pinellia, Tangerine Peel, Poria, Arisaema, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Acorus Gramineus, Polygala, Stir-fried Citrus aurantium, Gastrodia elata, Uncaria rhynchophylla, Bombyx batryticatus, and Licorice. ③Symptom of loss of vital energy Main symptoms: sudden onset of unconsciousness or confusion, eyes closed and mouth open, faint snoring, cold hands and limbs, profuse sweating, or even cold and damp body, limp limbs, incontinence, atrophied, dark purple tongue, greasy white tongue coating, and slow or weak pulse. Treatment method: restore Yang to rescue the adverse condition, replenish Qi and consolidate deficiency. Prescription: Shenfu Decoction combined with Shengmai Powder with added ingredients. Drug composition: American ginseng, processed aconite root, Ophiopogon japonicus, Schisandra chinensis, and Cornus officinalis. |
