How to identify H-type hypertension?

Many people do not understand H-type hypertension. In fact, H-type hypertension is also a type of hypertension. It will cause an imbalance in the ratio of elasticity and collagen and damage the elasticity of blood vessels. It may also cause the problem of hypertensive vascular remodeling.

1. Hyperhomocysteinemia is characterized by increased blood Hcy levels and is an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis. It is closely related to the occurrence of peripheral vascular disease and cerebrovascular disease, hypertension and hypertensive heart disease, coronary artery obstruction and thrombosis. Many studies have shown that Hcy can damage endothelial cells, induce changes in vascular structure, and lead to vascular dysfunction.

2. In 2010, American scholars reviewed the research on relevant mechanisms : hyperhomocysteinemia causes vascular dysfunction mainly through two pathways: the first is to increase blood pressure; the second is to damage endothelial NO-derived vasodilator activity. Hcy activates metalloproteinases to induce collagen synthesis, leading to an imbalance in the ratio of elasticity to collagen and thus damaging the elasticity of blood vessels.

3. The metabolites of high Hcy in the vascular endothelium affect smooth muscle cells , leading to vascular dysfunction and causing hypertension; Hcy is metabolized in the body to produce hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which is a strong antioxidant and vasodilator factor. When Hcy is high, the production of H2S is reduced by inhibiting cystathionine-γ-synthase (CSE), thereby causing hypertension and vascular diseases.

4. In addition, the theory that hyperhomocysteinemia causes hypertension is also related to increased angiotensin-converting enzyme activity . Studies have shown that H2S blocks the activity of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in endothelial cells[7]. Other studies have shown that Hcy induces AT1 receptor-associated metalloproteinase-9 and collagen synthesis in vascular endothelial cells, leading to the occurrence of hypertensive vascular remodeling.
