What to do if you have varicose veins in your lower limbs and your legs are swollen

Varicose veins of the lower limbs are very common in clinical practice. It is a common disease that has a great impact on the patient's physical life. Many people want to know what to do about varicose veins in the lower limbs and swollen legs. Varicose veins in the lower limbs and swollen legs are just one of the symptoms. Traditional Chinese medicine can be chosen for treatment.

1. Acupuncture

Because varicose veins of the lower limbs are a surgical disease, traditional acupuncture therapy is now difficult to achieve effective results. After a long period of exploration and improvement in needles, acupoints and operations, a relatively effective treatment plan has basically been formed. The most commonly used acupuncture methods are magnetic plum needle and high-frequency electroacupuncture. Both acupuncture methods are safe and effective, and are suitable for treating patients in the early stages of mild symptoms.

2. Gua Sha Therapy

Gua Sha is one of China's traditional natural therapies. It is based on the skin theory of TCM and uses tools such as ox horn and jade to scrape the relevant parts of the skin to achieve the purpose of dredging meridians, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Gua Sha can dilate capillaries, increase sweat gland secretion, promote blood circulation, etc. Varicose veins in the lower limbs are mainly treated by whole-body scraping.

Scraping areas and main acupoints:

Head: holographic acupoint area.

Back: Bladder meridian (bilateral heart points).

Upper limbs: Lung meridian (bilateral Taiyuan).

Lower limbs: Bladder meridian (from Chengshan to Weizhong on the affected side); Gallbladder meridian (from Waiqiu to Yanglingquan on the affected side); Stomach meridian (Zusanli on the affected side); Ashi point (scrape the local skin of varicose veins from bottom to top).

3. Chinese medicine foot bath

Method: Take 50 grams of cinnamon twig and 100 grams of papaya. The decoction can be used for foot soaking once before going to bed every night for 30 minutes. After the medicine liquid cools down, it can be heated again for soaking. One dose can be used continuously for 2 to 3 days. 7 days is a course of treatment. It is best to start after the beginning of winter. This method can effectively treat early varicose veins of the lower limbs.
