What causes lumbar pain?

In daily life, many people feel pain in the lumbar region after sitting for a long time. Some people don't pay attention to it, thinking it is due to excessive fatigue and that they will be fine if they just rest more. In fact, it is not the case. Lumbar pain is not a trivial matter and should be paid more attention to to find out the cause. Many women who have given birth and the elderly will experience lumbar pain. So what is going on?

According to relevant surveys, about 80% of people have suffered from low back pain at some time in their lives. Women have the special tasks of being wives and mothers. Due to anatomical and physiological characteristics, low back pain has the following causes and characteristics:

(1) There are many causes of low back pain, including visceral, gynecological, vascular, neurological, psychiatric or spinal.

(2) Many women suffer from low back pain, but only a small proportion of them suffer from gynecological diseases.

(3) The main causes of low back pain in women are the same as those in men, mainly acute and chronic soft tissue strain, followed by postural disorders, rheumatism, arthritis, spina bifida, etc.

(4) The most common age of onset is 35 to 45 years old.

(5) Although the low back pain of a large number of patients is not caused by gynecological diseases, the first onset of the disease often occurs during pregnancy, delivery, postpartum period and abortion, so it is easy to be mistaken for being related to obstetrics and gynecology.

(6) Low back pain caused by gynecological and obstetric diseases is usually located at a lower position, mostly in the cuboid bone area. Anyone experiencing low back pain in this area should undergo a detailed gynecological internal examination and triple checkup.

(7) Low back pain caused by gynecological diseases is mainly caused by various inflammations, such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and retroverted uterus, followed by uterine prolapse and advanced tumors. In addition to low back pain, there are also symptoms such as increased leucorrhea and irregular menstruation. Obstetric causes may cause relaxation of pelvic joint ligaments and changes in joint position due to the influence of ovarian endocrine.
