How to treat stage 4 hemorrhoids?

Stage four hemorrhoids are more serious, so for hemorrhoid patients, they must be cautious about their symptoms and take scientific treatment measures. Surgical treatment is now a more effective method, and there are also drug injection therapy and infrared therapy.

1. Surgical treatment:

Surgical treatment, including removal of hemorrhoids, is still the most commonly used treatment method. Its characteristics include less pain during and after the operation, faster wound healing, and definite therapeutic effect as the surgical methods have improved. However, it requires higher surgical conditions and is currently the most reliable method for treating hemorrhoids.

2. Other therapies:

1. Drug injection therapy: also known as sclerotherapy, which involves injecting the sclerosant directly into the hemorrhoids, which can cause the hemorrhoids to harden and shrink or cause the hemorrhoidal plugs to necrotize and fall off.

2. Dry hemorrhoid therapy: also known as drug twisting therapy, can cause abnormal and chemical inflammatory reactions in hemorrhoidal tissue, leading to fibrous tissue hyperplasia, thus achieving the purpose of treating hemorrhoids.

3. Infrared therapy: Use infrared rays to irradiate or burn hemorrhoids, causing them to shrink.

4. Cryotherapy: using a freezer and liquid nitrogen as a refrigerant to freeze the hemorrhoids into blocks, causing them to necrotize and fall off.

5. Laser therapy: CO2 or YAG laser is used to remove hemorrhoids, which is suitable for all types of hemorrhoids. Its characteristic is less bleeding.

The first step in treating hemorrhoids is to keep the bowels open and eat easily digestible food with less residue. The diet should be a combination of coarse and fine foods, drink less strong tea, coffee, alcohol and eat less spicy food to reduce irritation to the anal canal. Take a warm water sitz bath after defecation and apply hemorrhoid suppository or hemorrhoid ointment topically. Depending on the condition, injection therapy, cryotherapy and physical therapy can be used. Severe cases can be treated with surgery, including ligation, rubber band ligation, hemorrhoidectomy, etc.
