How to store fresh ginseng

Now that people's living standards have improved, they pay more and more attention to diet and health care. For those with poor physical fitness, they can eat some ginseng to regulate their bodies. So how should we preserve the fresh ginseng we bought? After all, ginseng is very expensive, and improper preservation can easily lead to deterioration, which is not worth the loss. There are many ways to preserve fresh ginseng. It can be put in white wine or preserved with moss.

To preserve fresh ginseng with white wine, wash the fresh ginseng with a disposable toothbrush and put it into an ordinary wine bottle or a sealed wine bottle. Pour in white wine at 55° or above, seal the bottle mouth, and soak it. If you use strong liquor to preserve fresh ginseng, it will not deteriorate for several years.

Alcohol can be used to preserve fresh ginseng, but it can only be used for viewing and absolutely not for drinking.

Moss preserves fresh ginseng. From ancient times to the present, ginseng diggers have wrapped the freshly dug ginseng in moss to achieve the purpose of preserving freshness. You can also choose to use moss to preserve ginseng at home. Moss can greatly preserve the moisture of fresh ginseng. It is best to store it in the refrigerator. If the moss is slightly dry, you can spray some water to keep the moss moist. This method can preserve it for a year without any problem.

Sand burial method: bury the ginseng tightly with clean fine sand. The temperature should be controlled at around 10°. It can be stored for several months but cannot be stored for a long time.

Other preservation methods: To preserve fresh ginseng, you can also put it in a plastic bag and use a vacuum packaging machine to remove the oxygen. This method is more cumbersome and will not be introduced in detail for now.

Directly purchase vacuum-packed ginseng for preservation. There are many brands of preserved ginseng on the market that can be purchased directly. The shelf life is 1-2 years. It is best to soak it in clean water for two hours before eating. It can be stored in the refrigerator or in a cool place.
