Insomnia, hot flashes

There are many reasons for insomnia, such as irritability, weak qi and blood, and sleeping too much during the day. If you suffer from insomnia and feel hot all over, it may be caused by your mood during the day or your qi and blood. You should try to calm down as quickly as possible, take a deep breath, don't think about anything, or listen to some light music to help you sleep. Hotness all over the body is mostly related to mood, and you will feel much better if you calm down.

1. Symptoms of Insomnia

①Difficulty falling asleep.

②Cannot fall asleep soundly, and sleep time is reduced.

③Waking up early and being unable to fall asleep again after waking up.

Frequently waking up from nightmares, feeling like you have been having nightmares all night.

No energy is restored after sleeping.

⑥The duration of onset can be long or short. The shorter one may get better in a few days, while the longer one may last for several days and be difficult to recover.

Easily awakened by startle, some are sensitive to sound, some are sensitive to light.

⑧Many people with insomnia like to have wild thoughts.

Long-term insomnia can lead to neurasthenia and depression, and the symptoms of neurasthenia patients will aggravate insomnia. Insomnia can cause fatigue, uneasiness, general discomfort, lack of energy, slow reaction, headache, and poor memory. Its greatest impact is on the mental side, and in severe cases it can lead to schizophrenia and depression. Classification of insomnia: The onset of this disease is in the heart, and it is closely related to the spleen, stomach, liver and kidneys, especially the heart and kidneys. This disease is caused by the inability of water and fire in the heart and kidney to complement each other, and the loss of yin and yang.

2. There are roughly three specific pathological factors of insomnia, which are described below:

(1) Yin deficiency and fire excess type is characterized by insufficient liver and kidney yin and blood, excessive fire in the heart and liver, restlessness, fever in the five parts of the body, palpitations, sweating, dry mouth and throat, tinnitus, forgetfulness, and insomnia.

(2) The deficiency of both heart and spleen is characterized by insufficient Qi and blood, lack of nourishment to the mind, palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia, and fatigue.

(3) Heat phlegm accumulation type is characterized by heat phlegm accumulation, disturbing the heart and brain, dizziness, chest tightness, excessive phlegm, and bitter taste in the mouth.

3. Treatment Methods

Don’t be nervous, build confidence, and seek reasonable and effective methods to overcome insomnia. Insomnia is not a serious disease, and it doesn’t matter if you sleep less for a few hours in one day or several days. It can be combined with diet therapy, Chinese medicine, Western medicine, acupuncture, physical therapy, qigong, etc.

For secondary insomnia, the focus is on treating the underlying disease or condition that causes insomnia. Generally speaking, insomnia will be cured without treatment once the cause of insomnia is resolved.

③For the treatment of primary insomnia, the most important thing is to adjust sleeping habits and restore normal biological rhythms. Sleeping time varies from person to person, and shorter sleep time does not have much impact on the human body.

④Generally , insomnia can be cured through treatment of etiology, psychology, and physical relaxation.

Commonly used sleeping pills in clinical practice are divided into three major categories, namely benzodiazepines, barbiturates and other non-barbiturates. Patients taking sleeping pills should not drive vehicles or operate machines to avoid accidents. It is not suitable for children. It should be used with caution by elderly patients and those with impaired liver and kidney function. It should not be used by lactating women or pregnant women. The dosage and usage of the above drugs must be followed according to the doctor's advice.
