How to use salbutamol sulfate to protect pregnancy

Salbutamol sulfate has a very good effect in preserving the fetus. If pregnant women experience fetal instability in the early stages of pregnancy, such as spotting, it indicates a sign of miscarriage. You can take salbutamol sulfate under the guidance of a doctor to preserve the fetus. Its overall effect is relatively good. Of course, after taking the medicine, you should also pay attention to a good rest, stay in bed absolutely, and strengthen your daily conditioning.

Dosage

1. Acute or intermittent use: inhale 1 to 2 sprays each time; maintenance or preventive use: 2 sprays each time, 3 to 4 times a day; prevention of exercise-induced asthma: inhale 2 sprays before exercise. For children, halve the dose. 2. Asthma spray: usage and dosage are the same as above. 3. Ventolin tablets: Adults take 2-4 mg each time, 3-4 times a day. For children aged 2 to 6 years, take 1 to 2 mg each time; for children aged 6 to 12 years, take 2 mg each time, 3 to 4 times a day; for children aged 12 years and above, take the same dose as for adults. 4. Long-acting Ventolin (Ventolin): 8 mg each time, once every 12 hours. 5. Ventolin injection: For adults, subcutaneous or intramuscular injection: 500 μg each time; intravenous: 250 μg slow push injection, used for status asthmaticus. 6. Ventolin nebulizer solution: 0.5 to 2 ml spray or intermittent positive pressure inhalation. 7. Shuchuanling tablets: 2.4-4.8 mg each time, 3-4 times a day. When used in obstetrics, it should be used alternately with other antispasmodics. One week is a course of treatment and it can be repeated after an interval of one week. Oral: 2.4 mg each time, 3 to 4 times a day. (1) The more common adverse reactions include: tremor, nausea, increased heart rate or abnormally strong heartbeat. (2) Less common adverse reactions: dizziness, vertigo, and dry mouth and throat. (3) Early signs of overdose poisoning: chest pain, dizziness, persistent severe headache, severe hypertension, persistent nausea and vomiting, persistent increased heart rate or strong heartbeat, irritability, etc.

Pharmacological Action

It has a high selectivity for airway smooth muscle β2 receptors, increases resistance to catecholamine O-methyltransferase and monoamine oxidase, prolongs the duration of action, and has little excitatory effect on the heart. In vitro experiments compared the concentrations of equal intensity required for effects on airway smooth muscle and myocardium and obtained the drug selectivity index, with salbutamol having the highest index of 250, terbutaline having 138, and isoproterenol having 1.4.

Through patient observation, the forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and heart rate changes of intravenous salbutamol and isoproterenol were compared. Salbutamol with a small dose of 0.1 μg/kg per minute can significantly increase FEV1, and the heart rate increases with the increase of dose, which shows that the selectivity is higher. However, isoproterenol can accelerate the heart rate when the FEV1 dose is increased, which shows that the selectivity is poor.

Indications

It is used for various types of bronchial asthma and various bronchial and lung diseases accompanied by bronchospasm; it is used in obstetrics to prevent and treat premature birth, and can relieve placental vasospasm and increase placental blood flow. Used for bradycardia, sinus arrest, sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block and other slow arrhythmias and heart failure, etc.
