Indications The external evil has not been eliminated, the body fluid is deficient, the patient is afraid of wind and has fever, has headache and dizziness, has dry throat and thirst, has constipation, has short and yellow urine, has red tongue with yellow coating, and has a floating and rapid pulse. Fang Yi The prescription uses Bupleurum to dispel external evil and promote the flow of Qi; Radix Rehmanniae nourishes Yin and moistens the intestines, clears away heat and quenches thirst, and both are the main ingredients. Saposhnikovia divaricata and Qianghuo dispel wind and relieve exterior symptoms; almond benefits the lungs and lowers qi, moistens the intestines and promotes bowel movements; white peony root nourishes blood and moistens the intestines; and Ophiopogon japonicus clears away heat, promotes fluid production and quenches thirst, all of which are assistant medicines. The previous Hu Xuan is used to disperse the external evil, benefit the lungs and lower the qi, Poria strengthens the spleen, Pinellia harmonizes the middle, Scallion white relieves the exterior, and Licorice is the messenger to invigorate the qi and harmonize the middle. The whole formula is compatible with both exterior and interior, taking into account both evil and righteousness, so that the exterior is relieved and the interior is harmonized, the stomach and intestines are moistened, and bowel movements are normal. use This prescription is mainly used to treat the symptoms of external evil not being eliminated, evil qi entering the interior, turning into heat and damaging body fluids, and causing intestinal dryness. Addition and subtraction If the internal heat is severe, remove Poria cocos and Pinellia ternata and add Rhubarb, Scrophularia ningpoensis, etc.; if there is qi stagnation and bloating, add Citrus aurantium, Magnolia officinalis, Areca catechu, etc. Prescription 1: Chaihu Decoction The composition includes 4 liang of Bupleurum, 2 liang each of Atractylodes, Paeonia lactiflora (in one recipe it is called Zirui), and Licorice, 1 liang of Cistanche, 2 liang of Chuanxiong (Chuqiong), 2 liang of Ophiopogon japonicus, 5 liang of Dry Rehmannia glutinosa, 30 jujubes, and 6 liang of ginger. It is mainly used to treat injuries to the sixth-month fetus.
