Sperm is an organic substance produced by the male testicles and used to reproduce offspring. Some people claim that sperm has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and therefore require men to retain sperm after ejaculation. But is this argument valid? In theory, seminal plasma is the nutritional component of sperm, which contains fructose and protein, as well as some prostaglandins and enzymes. Normal semen is milky white or light yellow. So is it correct to ask men to preserve their sperm because sperm can kill bacteria and disinfect? Let’s take a look together. Sperm production: The entire spermatogenesis process can be divided into 3 steps Spermatogonia are located at the base of the seminiferous epithelium and are divided into two types: A and B. Type A spermatogonia are further divided into type Ad and type Ap spermatogonia. Under normal circumstances, Ad-type spermatogonia do not undergo any mitosis and should be regarded as spermatogonial stem cells for spermatogenesis; Ap-type spermatogonia usually differentiate and proliferate into two B-type spermatogonia. Type B spermatogonia divide and proliferate into primary spermatocytes, which then begin the DNA synthesis process. Spermatocytes go through different stages of meiosis. RNA synthesis is very active during the pachytene stage. The result of meiosis is the production of haploid spermatogenic cells, also known as spermatids. In the process of sperm production, meiosis is a very critical process. At this stage, genetic materials recombine with each other, the genetic material is replicated only once, and the cell divides twice in succession, eventually forming sperm cells with half the number of chromosomes. Secondary spermatocytes are produced after the first division and contain two copies of haploid chromosomes. During the second division, spermatocytes evolve into haploid spermatids. The prophase of the first division lasts about 1 to 3 weeks, while the other stages of the first division and the second division are completed within 1 to 2 days. After the second division, sperm cells are formed, which are round cells with no division activity. Round spermatids undergo complex and dramatic changes into spermatids and sperm of different lengths. During the second division, the nucleus undergoes condensation and plasticity, while flagella are formed and the cytoplasm expands significantly. The process of complete sperm cell transformation is called spermatogenesis. Does sperm have bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects: 1. Sperm has bactericidal effects in the vagina, not the sperm but the semen. The reason is that semen is alkaline, while the vaginal environment is acidic, and the bacteria in the vagina can only survive in an acidic environment. Women who are allergic to semen should take drugs such as chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine and dexamethasone orally before having sex, and squeeze some contraceptive gel in the vagina to eliminate the antigenicity of semen. 2. Men can use condoms during sex to prevent semen from directly contacting the woman's vagina. The couple can also separate for a period of time, and have sex after the woman adapts to the antigenicity of the man's semen. After sex, the woman should immediately rinse the vagina to wash away the semen, which can reduce the occurrence of allergic phenomena. Women can also appropriately choose second-generation anti-allergic drugs such as loratadine, imidazoles, and cetirizine for treatment. 3. Semen allergy is a rare allergic disease. After semen allergy occurs, the lower body should be cleaned, sex should be suspended, and anti-allergic drugs should be taken orally, and the allergic phenomenon will be controlled soon. The best way to prevent semen allergy is to try to avoid contact with the husband's semen, and condoms can be used. However, this method can only treat the symptoms, not the root cause, and it also affects fertility. Therefore, the best way is desensitization therapy, allowing the wife to gradually contact semen so that the wife's body gradually adapts to sperm. |
