What is the difference between prickly heat and allergies?

Many friends cannot differentiate between prickly heat and allergies because the symptoms of the two seem similar, so it is difficult to distinguish them. Because their treatment methods are different, you must find the root cause of the disease before you can prescribe the right medicine.

The difference between prickly heat and allergies

Prickly heat is an inflammation around the sweat glands due to excessive sweating and the poor sweat discharge, which causes the sweat to be retained in the skin. In the hot summer, it is easy to get prickly heat when fat children cry loudly or when you hold them for a long time. White prickly heat, red prickly heat, and pus-filled prickly heat that grow on the face, neck, trunk, inner thighs, elbows, etc. can become infected and turn into boils.

Heat rash usually occurs in hotter environments and comes on quickly, but will disappear on its own and faster in a cooler environment. Heat rash usually has small white tips and is prone to appear on the forehead and back, with varying degrees of severity.

Causes of skin allergies:

1. The internal factor is the allergic constitution, which plays a leading role in the occurrence of skin allergies. Early and thorough desensitization is the key to treating skin allergies and preventing recurrence.

2. There are also many external factors. Including diet, inhaled substances, climate, contact with allergens and other factors. Among them, seafood, protein, spicy food, alcohol, inhalation of pollen, dust mites, cold weather, contact with chemicals, soaps, detergents, etc. are the most common causes of skin allergies. Due to such complex reasons, skin allergies recur repeatedly due to the interweaving of numerous causes and inducing factors.

Home remedies for prickly heat

1. Use salt to remove prickly heat

When your baby gets prickly heat, just take an appropriate amount of salt, put it in a pan and fry it until it turns brown, then take it out and cool it to room temperature. Take an appropriate amount of burnt salt and put it in a basin. Add appropriate amount of warm water (the ratio of salt to water is 1:100) to dissolve it completely. Take a clean towel and put it in the basin to wet it, then wring it slightly and apply it to the affected area (the degree of warmth should be appropriate for children). Do this several times a day and it will heal in 2 to 3 days.

2. Peach leaf bath for prickly heat

After drying the peach leaves in the shade, put them in a bag. When using, take 50 grams and soak them in hot water to bathe your child to prevent the occurrence of prickly heat. If the prickly heat condition is severe, boil peach leaves into juice and add it to the bath water, or directly use it to wipe the affected area for better results. When making peach leaf juice, the ratio is: 100 grams of peach leaves and 1000 milliliters of water. Boil it until only half the amount of water remains. Because peach leaves contain tannins, they can quickly dissipate prickly heat and have the effects of detoxification, anti-inflammation, pain relief and itching.

3. Bitter melon core wiping method

Bitter melon has the effects of clearing away heat and relieving summer heat, nourishing blood and invigorating qi, nourishing the kidneys and spleen, nourishing the liver and improving eyesight. It is very effective in treating prickly heat. Therefore, mothers can use bitter melon to wipe the areas where the baby has prickly heat on his body, which can effectively remove the prickly heat. What needs to be used is the inner core of the bitter melon.
