Treatment of hot cough: The treatment should be to dispel wind and heat, promote lung function and relieve cough. You can choose Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction with modifications. Take 3 grams each of ephedra and licorice, 10 grams of gypsum, 5 grams each of mulberry leaves, chrysanthemum, almond, peucedanum, forsythia, dalis chinensis, fritillaria, platycodon, and bamboo shavings. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. Chinese patent medicines include cough-relieving loquat syrup, snake gall and Fritillaria liquid, three snake gall and Fritillaria liquid, etc.

Care for hot coughs: Just like cold coughs, parents should maintain good hygiene in the baby’s room, keep the temperature moderate, and prevent irritation from smoke, dust, and special odors. Eat a light diet and avoid spicy food.

What fruits can I eat when I have a fever?

Pears are cool in nature, sweet in taste, can clear away heat and resolve phlegm, and are suitable for people with hot coughs. People usually peel the pears, take out the cores, add 1 to 3 grams of Fritillaria cirrhosa powder, and stew them in water, twice a day, one pear each time.
