Symptoms of rash

First, let’s look at the symptoms of measles. Measles is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the measles virus. It may take 10 to 15 days for a healthy child to develop a measles infection after coming into contact with a measles patient. The disease initially presents with fever, cough, runny nose and tears. On the second and third days, the child's buccal mucosa will become red and congested, and there will be small white dot-like mucosal rashes on the mucosa.

From the time the child develops fever to 3 or 4 days later, the temperature becomes higher, the eyes begin to be sensitive to light and tear up, eye secretions increase, the runny nose and cough worsen, and the rash continues to appear. The rash is rose-colored and usually begins in front of and behind the ears, on the neck, cheeks, and forehead. It gradually increases in number and spreads to the chest, back, abdomen, and finally the limbs. The rash is usually isolated but may also coalesce into patches.

The rash will begin to gradually fade away on the 5th day after it appears, and will completely disappear after a week, leaving some fine scaling and brown marks. Fever and cough are relieved. The whole process took about 10 days. If the child develops pneumonia or laryngitis at the same time as the rash, the illness may last longer.

Rubella is caused by the rubella virus. The child will initially have a fever and a rash will develop in about a day. The rash is pink and scattered over the trunk and less frequently on the limbs. In addition to fever, the child may also have a runny nose and cough. The rash will disappear in about 2 or 3 days. The child's lymph nodes behind the ears and in the occipital region will be swollen, but there are generally no complications.

Does every child get a rash?

Rashes are something that many children will experience, but parents don’t really understand this situation, and some parents even think that all children will get rashes.

1. Although many children have experienced rashes, not every child will get a rash, so parents don’t need to worry too much. Children's rash, also known as infantile roseola, is a disease caused by viral infection and is a very common infectious disease among infants and young children. Usually the illness is not serious and the child recovers quickly.

2. Children should stay in bed and rest after the onset of the disease. When fever symptoms occur, they should be given plenty of boiled water to drink and eat foods that are easily digestible. If the child develops other symptoms when having a high fever, physical cooling methods can be used under the guidance of a doctor, or the child can take some antipyretic drugs, but parents should not give the child medication on their own.

3. Keep your child's skin clean and dry. When bathing your child, the temperature should be appropriate, not too cold or too hot.

Infants and young children will only develop a rash if they are infected by a virus. Not all children will develop rashes as some parents believe, and the disease will not become prevalent on a large scale.
