Foaming at the mouth in early pregnancy is just one condition due to excess stomach acid. Reason 1: Normal morning sickness

When a woman is pregnant for about one and a half months, the chorion in her body causes a significant increase in the secretion of gonadal hormones, which significantly reduces gastric acid and the activity of digestive enzymes.

It not only affects the normal digestive function of the gastrointestinal tract of pregnant women, but also causes pregnancy reactions such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, limb fatigue, etc., also known as "morning sickness", which is a normal physiological phenomenon.

Reason 2: Indigestion

Another reason is that after pregnancy, due to hormonal changes, the sphincter relaxes, and the food we eat can easily come up (the sphincter is located at the junction of the esophagus and the stomach, and it makes the food we eat go down but not come up).

It causes the acidic contents in the stomach to reflux into the esophagus, throat and mouth, irritating the mucous membrane.

Reason 3: Uterine compression

In late pregnancy, the growing uterus puts pressure on the stomach, and hormones relax the muscles that separate the esophagus and stomach, making it easier for stomach acid to surge up and cause a burning sensation in the chest.

1. Do not lie down or bend over within three hours after a meal.

2. Do not drink any beverages or food other than boiled water three hours before meals.

3. Eat less or no alcohol, chocolate, greasy food, pepper and other irritating foods, and do not smoke.

4. Raise the head of the bed by 2-3 inches when sleeping.

Advice for expectant mothers: Eat small and frequent meals, and avoid foods that are too sweet, too spicy, or too sticky; do not lie flat on the bed after meals, and do not lie too low; try to bend over as little as possible to reduce acid reflux; keep bowel movements open.

If you find symptoms of gastric reflux, try to raise your upper body about 20 degrees. Adjust the lifestyle of pregnant women. Many seemingly normal lifestyle habits can aggravate acid reflux symptoms in pregnant women.

Pregnant women should pay attention to the following points in their daily life:

1. Do not wear tight clothes or belts.

2. Try to reduce squatting, bending and other movements.

3. It is not advisable to lie down in bed immediately after a meal. If you need to lie down in bed, you can raise the pillow.

4. Try to eat small meals frequently. Except for drinking water, do not eat 3 hours before going to bed.

5. It is not advisable to eat foods that can produce acid, such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, etc., nor is it advisable to eat foods with strong acidity, such as vinegar, lemon juice, etc.

6. Avoid drinking strong tea and coffee.
