How to deal with burn scars

Burns are generally very easy to occur and are also a type of wound that is difficult to treat. Burns are often accompanied by blisters, pus and other conditions, so special attention must be paid to care after a burn. High-temperature burns and low-temperature burns have different degrees of burns, and the treatment methods are also different, but most burns will form scars. Generally, you should pay attention to care after the scars form. So let’s find out how to deal with them specifically.

If a scab forms after a burn, it means the wound is about to heal. Don't worry about it. Do not tear off the scab in advance, as it will cause bleeding again and take time to heal. After a period of time, the skin will fall off by itself and you can clean it then.

After the scabs fall off the burned skin, you must take good care of it to avoid scars.

1. Care for burns: For skin burns, pay attention to cleaning and drying the wound surface, and avoid soaking it in water again after rinsing with cold water.

2. The wound will be dry after about 2 to 3 days, and you should spray burn ointment at this time. If the area is not large, the scab will usually fall off and heal in 1-2 weeks.

3. After a burn, avoid applying gentian violet or mercurochrome to avoid affecting the observation of changes in the wound.

4. Diet: Patients with large-area burns should adopt a diet of small and frequent meals, and be given high-calorie, high-protein, high-vitamin and easily digestible foods to enhance the body's resistance and promote wound repair. Also, avoid eating ginger and some foods with pigments to avoid leaving scars. You can use some burn ointment or scald ointment for external application, and then take some anti-inflammatory medicine. Do not eat peanuts and chili peppers to avoid getting a sore throat.

Generally speaking, local burns can gradually recover after the scabs fall off. You can clean the area, eat a light diet and supplement vitamins. It usually takes about 1-2 months. This burn is divided into three degrees. Deep second-degree burns and above will leave scars, which will fall off in seven days. Shallow second-degree burns and below should not leave scars.
