What to do if eczema ulcers and water discharges

What to do if eczema ulcers and water discharges

If eczema develops to the point of ulceration and oozing of water, it means that the symptoms of eczema have become very serious. Although it is more difficult to treat eczema at this time than when eczema is just discovered, it does not mean that it cannot be cured. In the process of treating eczema, we must identify the causes and then take appropriate treatment methods. The specific methods include: internal therapy, external therapy, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, proven prescription therapy and Western medicine!

1. General principles of prevention and treatment

Look for possible triggers, such as work environment, living habits, diet, hobbies, thoughts and emotions, as well as the presence or absence of chronic lesions and internal organ diseases.

2. Internal Therapy

Choose antihistamines to relieve itching, and use two together or alternately if necessary. Generalized eczema can be treated with oral or injected corticosteroids, but they should not be used for a long time.

3. External Therapy

Choose appropriate dosage form and medicine according to the condition of skin lesions. For acute eczema, local washing and wet compresses with normal saline, 3% boric acid or 1:2000-1:10000 potassium permanganate solution, and calamine lotion for astringency and protection. Subacute and chronic eczema should be treated with appropriate glucocorticoid creams, tar preparations or immunomodulators, such as tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus ointment. Add antibiotic preparations for secondary infection.

IV. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that wind evil, dampness evil, heat evil, blood deficiency, and insect infestation are the main causes of the disease. The treatment principles are to dispel wind and dampness, clear away heat and detoxify, nourish blood and moisten dryness, and promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, so as to achieve the effect of expelling evil, strengthening the body, and relieving itching.

5. Prescription therapy

1. 15 grams each of Indigo, Talcum Powder, and Cypress, and 9 grams of Borneol. Grind them into fine powder, mix with sesame oil to form a paste, apply to the affected area 3 times a day. It is effective in treating acute eczema.

2. Grind 10 grams of alum, 30 grams of calamine, 6 grams of borneol, and 15 grams of Sophora flavescens into fine powder and apply it to the affected area twice a day. It is effective in treating scrotal eczema.

3. Grind 100 grams of Evodia rutaecarpa into fine powder, add Fu Qingsong ointment to make a paste, apply to the eczema area 3 times a day. Generally, the itching will stop after one use, and it can be cured in 6-15 days.

6. Western Medicine

1. Nonspecific desensitization treatment: Acute or subacute eczema can be treated with 10% calcium gluconate 10ml or 10% sodium thiosulfate 10ml intravenous injection once a day; or 0.25% procaine 20ml plus vitamin C 1-2g intravenous injection once a day.

2. Glucocorticoids: their use is generally not recommended. For patients with significant and widespread inflammation in the acute phase, short-term use may be considered, such as prednisone 20-40 mg/d. After the effect is seen, the dosage may be reduced or even discontinued as appropriate.
