What Chinese herbal medicine is best for eczema

What Chinese herbal medicine is best for eczema

In life, there are always some people with particularly low immunity. These people often suffer from one disease or another, especially skin diseases. Most of these skin diseases are caused by low immunity of the body. Especially in the southern region of our country, due to the hot and humid climate, many people have some moisture in their bodies, which can easily cause people to suffer from eczema. So what Chinese herbal medicine is good for eczema?

The causes of eczema are complex and can generally be divided into endogenous factors and external factors. Common factors include chronic digestive system diseases, circulatory disorders, mental stress, and heredity. As for the worsening of eczema in autumn, weather is one of the very important factors. People who have dry skin or a family history of ichthyosis are more likely to develop eczema. Another problem is diet. Excessive consumption of seafood, beef, mutton and other irritating foods in autumn can easily induce eczema.

Since eczema is difficult to cure and prone to recurring, many people are afraid of it. So, what kind of medication should be used to treat eczema?

1. Anti-allergic drugs. Since eczema is a common allergic skin disease, antiallergic drugs such as diphenhydramine, cyproheptadine, and loratadine can usually be taken to relieve itching and reduce inflammation.

2. Hormone drugs. Dermatology also often uses topical medications to treat allergic diseases, but the treatment drugs and dosage forms should be selected according to the different stages of eczema. Common ointments on the market such as Psoriasis Cream, Picon Cream, Fuqingsong, and Pevisone are all ointments containing corticosteroids. This type of drug has obvious effects when used in the short term, but it should not be used for a long time. Long-term external use will bring many side effects, such as aggravating the condition and even causing hormone-dependent dermatitis, which increases the difficulty of treatment.

3. Antibiotics. If eczema patients have skin ulcers, exudation, secondary infection, etc., they often need to use antibiotics such as erythromycin ointment and tetracycline ointment.

4. Skin protectant. Commonly used ones are zinc oxide oil and zinc oxide ointment. As long as there is no large exposed wound or exudation or blisters, it can be used as an auxiliary medication to protect the wound and promote skin healing. However, it should be noted that the use of zinc oxide ointment should be avoided as much as possible for skin lesions such as acute eczema accompanied by massive exudation, large-area ulcers, erosions, blisters, bullae, etc. accompanied by wound exudate.

Although the above medicines are suitable for eczema, they must be used correctly under the guidance of a doctor and should not be used at will to avoid causing adverse drug reactions or even aggravating the condition.

In addition to drug treatment, it is also very important for patients with eczema to master correct skin cleansing and skin care methods. Patients should pay attention to using less degreasing cleansers, especially in autumn and winter when the weather is dry. They should choose moisturizing bath cleansers, avoid bathing in too hot water, do not over-scrub, and prohibit the use of heavily alkaline soaps and irritating drugs. After bathing, apply moisturizing lotion in time. It is best to choose medical skin care products that can improve the skin barrier function and do not contain allergenic ingredients (such as preservatives, emulsifiers, fragrances, etc.). People with food allergies should avoid eating corresponding foods.
