What to check for back pain

If you find you have lower back pain, you should see a doctor as soon as possible and the doctor will complete the following tests based on your situation: 1. Urinalysis; 2. Routine blood test, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, antistreptococcus "O", rheumatoid factor, HLA-B27, alkaline phosphatase and acid phosphatase, etc.; 3. X-ray, CT, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Causes of back pain

1. Most patients with lumbar disc herniation experience persistent dull pain in the lower back, which is relieved when lying down and aggravated when standing up. Generally, it can be tolerated and the waist can be moderately moved or slow walking can be performed. Some people also experience sudden severe spasm-like pain in the lower back. Coughing and sneezing can aggravate the pain, requiring bed rest, which seriously affects their life and work. 2. Degenerative spondylitis is more common in people over 50 years old. They will experience back pain, soreness, stiffness and difficulty in moving in the morning. The pain will improve after moving the waist, but it will worsen after excessive activity. The back pain is more obvious in the evening. Lying flat can relieve the pain, the pain is not severe, and tapping the waist feels comfortable.

3. Lumbar muscle strain is often caused by cumulative injuries due to improper sitting posture for a long time due to professional factors or incomplete treatment of lumbar sprains. I feel a dull pain in my waist, which is relieved after rest and worsened after fatigue. The pain is particularly obvious when bending over to work, but it can be relieved by stretching or tapping the waist. 4. Lumbar fibrositis is often caused by cold, dampness, and chronic strain affecting the fascia and muscle tissue of the lower back. Most cases are diffuse low back pain, mainly in the muscles on both sides of the lumbar spine and above the pelvis. The pain worsens in the morning and improves after a few minutes of activity, but the pain worsens again with excessive activity. Tap your waist lightly to relieve the pain. 5. Inflammatory diseases such as tuberculous spondylitis, suppurative spondylitis, etc. are not common. (1) Tuberculous spondylitis is most likely to affect the lumbar spine, and the earliest symptom is often back pain, which is localized and dull, or aching, and is more severe at night and after activity. Accompanying symptoms often include low-grade fever, night sweats, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Seek medical attention promptly to avoid serious spinal deformities, abscesses, and spinal cord compression. (2) Pyogenic spondylitis is generally caused by severe systemic infection such as sepsis, trauma, lumbar surgery, etc. The pain in the waist and back is severe, with obvious pressure pain and buckling pain, often accompanied by fear of cold, chills and high fever. 6. Urinary system diseases such as nephritis, pyelonephritis, stones, tumors, renal ptosis, hydronephrosis, etc. Nephritis presents with deep distension and pain in the lumbar triangular area; pyelonephritis presents with obvious low back pain and percussion pain. If renal abscess occurs, the low back pain is mostly unilateral with local tenderness; kidney stones mostly present with colic and severe percussion pain; low back pain caused by renal tumors is mostly dull pain or distension, and sometimes also colic.
