For each of us, taking women as an example, every woman has a uterus, which is one of the reproductive organs. However, due to the different living environments or genetic materials of each of us, the shape or certain characteristics of our uterus may also be different. For example, some people's uterus will have unknown changes. So let us understand what vertical and horizontal uterus means. 1. Septate uterus A septate uterus is a common uterine developmental abnormality that occurs when the bilateral paramesonephric ducts are fused and a certain process of septum absorption is blocked. The septate uterus has an incidence rate of 0.009% to 12% and the incidence rate in the population is unknown. It accounts for about 75% of uterine malformations. After the bilateral paramesonephric ducts are completely fused, the absorption of the septum is impaired, resulting in a septate uterus (utertIs stum), which is divided into complete septate uterus and incomplete septate uterus. 2. Classification The uterus with septate is classified as Buttram class V. The septate uterus is divided into two types. A uterus with a complete septate uterus is one that extends from the fundus of the uterus to the internal or external os of the cervix; a uterus with an incomplete septate uterus is one that ends at any point above the internal os of the cervix. There may be communication between the mediastinum and the part above the external opening. Complete uterine septate combined with vaginal septate, vaginal atresia on one side in a few cases, and urinary system hypoplasia. (See Figure)[1]3. The septate uterus has communication Clinical diagnosis IV. Clinical manifestations 1. Excessive menstrual flow and dysmenorrhea are often caused by poor uterine contraction and poor menstrual blood discharge. 2. The incidence of infertility increases. 3. Suction leakage is prone to occur during abortion, resulting in continued pregnancy. 4. Repeated spontaneous abortion and increased incidence of pregnancy failure. 5. The incidence of premature birth and abnormal fetal position increases. 6. The labor process is prolonged and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage increases. 7. It is easy to cause placenta retention after delivery. 5. Gynecological examination Generally, no positive physical signs are found. Occasionally, the cervix may be found to be obviously asymmetrical in the vaginal vault, the cervix is larger, and there may be a septum inside the cervix. |
