Herpes virus symptoms and treatment

Herpes virus symptoms and treatment

The herpes virus is a relatively common virus. When a person is infected with this virus, it often causes herpes. There are many types of herpes. For example, genital herpes is a relatively common disease. However, after being infected with the virus, papules will develop around the patient's genitals, and eventually erosions will form, leading to ulcers, causing pain and other symptoms. At this time, some oral and topical medications must be used for treatment.

Symptoms of herpes virus

1. In fact, many forms of this disease are included in life. I believe that many patients are very clear about it. The incubation period of primary genital herpes is 2 to 7 days. The primary lesion is one or more small and itchy red papules, which quickly turn into small blisters. Pustules may form after 3 to 5 days, and erosions, ulcers, and scabs may form after rupture, accompanied by pain. The lesions may be single or fused. Generally speaking, the locations of occurrence in men and women are actually very different, so we don't need to say more about this. In men, it is more common to occur in the glans penis, coronal sulcus, penis body or urethral orifice, while in women, the rash often occurs in the labia, perianal area or vagina. About 90% of cases also invade the cervix and may also affect the rectal mucosa. It is often accompanied by fever, headache, fatigue, myalgia, and inguinal lymphadenopathy and tenderness. Symptoms last for 1 to 2 weeks, and the lesions usually scab over and heal in 3 to 4 weeks.

2. Generally speaking, this disease has many manifestations, such as recurrent genital herpes. Generally speaking, this situation recurs within 1 to 4 months after the primary infection. The clinical manifestations of recurrent genital herpes are similar to those of primary herpes, but the symptoms are milder, the rash is smaller in area, and the course of the disease is shorter. It usually heals itself within a few days. 1 to 2 days before recurrence, there are often prodromal symptoms such as local itching or burning sensation. The vast majority of patients with recurrent genital herpes seen clinically are male, and female patients often do not seek medical treatment because their symptoms are not obvious. Relapses are associated with fever, menstruation, sun exposure, cold, and certain viral infections. 3. Rectal and anal herpes virus infection occurs in male homosexuals. The patient has anorectal pain, anal discharge, and a feeling of urgency and heaviness during bowel movements.

1. Local treatment:

(1) 3% boric acid solution or normal saline: For blisters or obvious local redness and swelling, apply wet compress until the damage subsides. (2) 1%-2% gentian violet solution: For ulcers, apply to the affected area twice a day. (3) 3% acyclovir ointment: Apply topically several times a day. (4) 0.5% neomycin ointment: apply topically.

2. Systemic treatment:

(1) Immunoglobulin, 3 ml each time, intramuscular injection, once every other day, for a total of 3-4 times. (2) Cimetidine: Take orally 0.2 g each time, 3-4 times a day, for 5 consecutive days. (3) Take vitamin C, vitamin B2 or vitamin B complex orally. (4) Acyclovir: 0.2 g orally each time, 5 times a day. In severe cases, the drug can be administered intravenously. Add 0.2-0.3g of acyclovir to 5% glucose injection and drip intravenously 2-3 times a day for 5 consecutive days. (5) Antibiotics (penicillin, cefotaxime) should be used for secondary infection.
