Many of my friends will hear the doctor mention the professional term "splenic calcification" when they go to the hospital for check-up. Many people worry that spleen calcification will affect their health. So I will consult my doctor on how to treat this disease of splenic calcification. In fact, there is currently no method to treat splenic calcifications. Why is that? Because splenic calcification is not a pathological finding. Calcification foci in the spleen are a diagnostic description of imaging, which is actually the pathological result of local fibrosis in the spleen. The exact cause is not very clear at present. It may be caused by partial atrophy of the spleen or perisplenitis, and is generally not treated. It is recommended that you have regular follow-up visits for imaging examinations such as B-ultrasound or CT to observe changes in the size of splenic calcification foci. Calcification foci in the spleen are mainly caused by calcium salt deposition, and are also related to local hardening and aging, which has no effect on physical health. Therefore, there is no need for treatment or surgery. At the same time, medication and other conservative treatments are of no effect. The calcification focus will not shrink or disappear. Just continue to observe it, have regular check-ups, and do a color ultrasound after half a year. 1. Calcification spots in the spleen generally have no clinical significance and usually have no impact on the body. They are often caused by chronic inflammatory stimulation (infection). Most patients have no subjective symptoms and are only discovered during physical examinations. 2. Common causes of calcification in the spleen include chronic inflammatory stimulation, old splenic infarction, splenic tuberculosis, splenic trauma, etc., which are often characterized by fibrosis, scarring and calcification of the lesions. Ultrasound shows high and strong echoes of varying degrees (calcifications may also be accompanied by shadows). Splenic calcification is often the result of multiple diseases. Most patients are asymptomatic and are accidentally discovered during ultrasound examinations. The clinical significance of the sonogram of splenic calcification should be combined with clinical analysis or by clinical physicians. Splenic calcification generally does not have much impact on the body. Calcification is mostly the deposition of ascaris eggs or calcium, so there is no need to worry too much. |
