By pressing and acupressure on the Laogong point, you can effectively relieve stomach problems caused by long-term social engagements, clear internal heat, and effectively eliminate embarrassing situations such as bad breath. At the same time, Laogong acupoint is also an emergency acupoint for stroke and heatstroke. Of course, this requires correct techniques.

The Laogong point connects the hand with the outside world. White-collar workers suffer from excessive heat in the heart and stomach, frequent stomachaches and sleep disorders due to stressful life, irregular meals, busy work pressure, overtime work, staying up late or drinking at social events. At this time, pressing the Laogong point for 5 to 10 minutes can achieve the pain-relieving effect.

Long-term rubbing of the Laogong point has the effects of clearing heart fire, calming the mind and strengthening the heart. It has a good effect in treating insomnia, neurasthenia and dyshidrosis.

Halitosis is an abnormally unpleasant odor that often emanates from the oral cavity, which often causes inconvenience in interpersonal communication. There are many reasons for bad breath, such as eating onions, garlic, salty and fishy foods, long-term smoking and drinking, periodontitis, chronic sinusitis, lung disease, gastrointestinal disease, diabetes, cancer, etc., as well as not paying attention to oral hygiene can all cause bad breath.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main cause of bad breath is stomach heat fumigation, which can be solved by pressing and stimulating the Laogong point. It can clear the fire in the heart and stomach, reduce swelling and relieve pain. It is a very good health care point and also a very important point for treating bad breath.

With the arrival of summer, many people have trouble sleeping. This type of insomnia is mostly caused by disharmony between the heart and kidneys, and imbalance between water and fire.

Just rub and warm your palms half an hour before going to bed every night, massage the left Yongquan point with your right palm and the right Yongquan point with your left palm 200 times each. This can reduce the heart fire and increase the kidney water, so that water and fire can be in harmony, and the heart and kidney can communicate, achieving the effect of promoting sleep.

At the same time, Laogong point is also one of the key emergency acupoints for stroke, coma and heatstroke.

Location: In the palm of your hand, between the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones, towards the 3rd metacarpal bone, at the tip of the middle finger when making a fist.

Indications: coma, syncope, heatstroke, vomiting, heartache, mania, epilepsy, mouth ulcers, bad breath, tinea pedis, etc.

Moxibustion with moxa cones 3 times; or moxibustion with moxa sticks for 3-5 minutes.

Acupuncture: In the palm of the hand, insert the needle vertically 0.3-0.5 inches. Acupuncture is painful, so it should be used with caution in the elderly, weak and pregnant women.

Massage method:

There are three ways to stimulate the Laogong acupoint. Choose one:

  1. Place the thumb of your right hand on the acupoint on your left hand, and place the other four fingers on the back of your hand for support. Use your thumb to massage in a rotating motion for about 20 to 30 seconds at a time. Repeat the operation alternately from left to right, 1 to 2 times a day.

  2. Use the back of your right fist to rotate and press this point on your left hand until you feel a little soreness, about 20 to 30 seconds. Repeat the operation alternately from left to right, 1 to 2 times a day.

    3. Use a massage stick to press this point on both hands for about 10 to 20 seconds each, 1 to 2 times a day.

    Regularly pressing the Laogong point on the palm of your hand can help strengthen your heart. The method is: use the thumbs of both hands to press against each other, or you can place both hands on the corners of the table and press the Laogong point. You can control the time freely. Long-term persistence can reduce the heart fire and achieve the effect of calming the mind and feeling naturally cool.
