Although Western medicine is becoming more and more common in life, many people still choose Chinese medicine for treatment when they become ill, because Chinese medicine has fewer side effects on the human body than Western medicine. Patients with synovitis generally look for many ways to treat their synovitis, because synovitis is difficult to cure with conservative treatment. So how should synovitis be treated in traditional Chinese medicine?

1. Folk remedies for treating synovitis

1.1. Take 10g of white mustard seeds and 10g of scutellaria baicalensis seeds, fry them in 100g of butter until they turn black and remove the residue, add 30g of aged vinegar and boil until dry, add 3g of talcum powder, apply to the affected area twice a day.

1.2. The most popular folk recipe for synovitis ointment: dry Chuanxiong, musk, safflower, Achyranthes bidentata, borneol, mistletoe, Sanguisorba officinalis, camphor, processed Aconitum carmichaelii, processed Strychnos nux vomica, centipede, Clematis chinensis, Angelica dahurica, frankincense, and myrrh, fry them with sesame oil, add rosin and red lead to make a black ointment, apply it to the affected area, change it once a day, and one course of treatment is 30 days.

1.3. Chuanxiong Powder Recipe: Take 45g of Chuanxiong, grind it into fine powder, and pack it into cloth bags made of thin cloth, with 15g of powder in each bag. Fix it to the knee with tape, in direct contact with the affected area. Use 1 bag of medicine each time, change the medicine once a day, and use multiple bags alternately. The replaced bags can be reused after drying.

1.4. Cactus external application recipe: Take an appropriate amount of cactus, scrape off the burrs on both sides with a knife, then cut it into two halves, apply the split side to the painful area of ​​synovitis, fix it with adhesive tape, and change to the other half after 12 hours. In winter, you can put the cut side in a hot pot for 3-4 minutes, and then apply it to the affected area after it is heated, usually at night.

2. Foods for treating synovitis

2.1. Ginger porridge: 50g polished rice, 5 slices of ginger, a few scallions with roots, and an appropriate amount of rice vinegar. Use a clay pot to cook rice porridge. Mash the ginger and cook it with the rice. Add onions and vinegar when the porridge is almost done. Covering yourself with a blanket and sweating after eating can relieve the cold and alleviate the pain of synovitis.

2.2. Chuanwu porridge: 3-5g raw Chuanwu, 30g polished rice, 10 drops of ginger juice, and appropriate amount of honey. Crush the Aconitum into a very fine powder, cook it into porridge with polished rice, add the Aconitum powder after it boils, then simmer on low heat, add ginger juice and honey after it is cooked, stir well, and cook for one or two more times. It is best to take it warm. Patients with synovitis experience heat pain and should avoid taking the medicine during fever and during pregnancy. This prescription should not be taken together with other Chinese medicines such as Pinellia, Trichosanthes, Fritillaria, Bletilla striata, and Smilax glabra. This porridge can dispel cold, relieve pain and relieve synovitis.

2.3. Job's tears porridge: 30g Job's tears, a little starch, sugar and appropriate amount of osmanthus. First cook the Job's tears, and when the rice is well cooked, add a little starch, then add sugar and osmanthus. Served as breakfast, it can clear away dampness and heat, strengthen the spleen and eliminate numbness, and relieve the redness and swelling of synovitis.

2.4. Black bean porridge: 20 grams of black soybeans, 60 grams of polished rice, and appropriate amount of brown sugar. Soak black soybeans in warm water overnight, wash them, pour them into a pot and boil them for a few minutes, add rice and brown sugar, and cook until the rice is cooked and the porridge is thick. It has the effects of dispelling wind, activating blood circulation, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling, and is suitable for patients with synovitis.

2.5. Ginger Chicken: Use a rooster that has just started crowing, 100-250g of ginger, cut into small pieces, stir-fry and stew in a pan without adding oil or salt. Those who can drink can put a small amount of wine and finish it within 1 day. They can also eat it once every 1 week or half a month. It is used for cold and painful joints, those who prefer warmth and are afraid of cold, and to relieve the pain of synovitis.
