Can lumbar disc herniation be cured?

Our previous generation often had to do some physically strenuous work. Such long-term pressure can easily lead to lumbar disc herniation, which is a common disease that is very uncomfortable for the elderly. The current treatment problem is the difficulty of curing lumbar disc herniation. The incidence of this type of disease is getting higher and higher, so we must pay more attention to it in our daily lives.

Although we may rarely hear about the cure of this type of disease in our daily lives, we can alleviate some of the symptoms of the disease through exercise correction methods. These methods are all about stretching our body's joints and spine to relieve the symptoms of the disease.

1. Traction method: The traction method is to increase the width of the intervertebral space through pelvic traction, so as to gradually increase the internal pressure of the lumbar intervertebral disc, which has a good effect on alleviating the compression and stimulation of the nerve roots. However, this type of therapy must be carried out under the guidance of a regular doctor, otherwise it can easily make the condition worse.

2. Physical method: Electric current stimulation can improve the patient's blood circulation and eliminate edema. Physical therapy includes ultrashort wave, intermittent electrotherapy, electric current therapy, etc. Patients usually need to undergo this therapy fifteen to twenty times, and some patients may not see obvious results.

3. Massage: Massage therapy is loved by many middle-aged and elderly patients. It can relax the nerves and also relax the waist and back muscles. Patients with lumbar disc herniation often feel irritating pain in the waist due to compression of cervical nerves, and massage can relax muscles and relieve muscle spasms.

Things to note for lumbar disc herniation:

1. Pay attention to bed rest. Resting on a hard bed is the most basic treatment measure. Especially in the early stages of the disease and during treatment, the joint ligaments are relatively loose and the inflammation is severe. If you do not get enough rest, the condition may worsen.

2. Keep your waist warm. Lumbar myofibrosarcoma and spasm caused by cold waist often lead to stiffness of lumbar joints, recurrence of intervertebral disc herniation, and nerve root edema. Due to waist muscle damage and poor blood circulation, the waist is more susceptible to cold than other parts of the body.

3. Waist movement posture. To prevent recurrence of lumbar disc herniation, avoid doing movements that require bending and turning the waist, such as sweeping and mopping the floor, bending over to lift heavy objects, etc. Avoid working in one posture with your waist bent for long periods of time.

4. Pay attention to moderate sex life. If the kidney qi is strong, the waist will be strong. Changes in blood circulation in the lumbar region during sexual intercourse can cause ischemia and hypoxia in the lumbar muscles, and the movement of the waist can have a significant impact on the intervertebral disc.

5. Pay attention to functional exercises of the waist. Strong lumbar muscles naturally enhance the protective effect on the lumbar spine, which can prevent the recurrence of lumbar disc herniation.

For patients with lumbar disc herniation, hard labor should be reduced in daily life. Patients can pay proper attention to some waist exercises. Waist muscle exercises can alleviate the recurrence of lumbar disc herniation. For patients whose disease symptoms cannot be relieved for a long time, they should go to the hospital in time to receive examination and treatment from a doctor.
