Chronic eczema symptoms

Chronic eczema symptoms

Speaking of eczema, many of our friends know that it is a skin disease with a relatively rapid onset. However, you may not know that eczema can also be fast or slow. The so-called chronic eczema does not mean that it has a slow onset, but that it will accompany the patient for a long time. The patient has never been completely cured, and only needs to encounter allergens to cause the onset of eczema symptoms. This is chronic eczema.

Chronic eczema is relatively difficult to treat and its symptoms are also difficult to eliminate. Many factors can cause the onset of chronic eczema. In order to be able to detect chronic eczema in time, please first understand the symptoms of chronic eczema.

Chronic eczema is characterized by severe itching, polymorphic skin lesions, dense patches of erythema, papules, papulovesicles or blisters that are easy to exude, unclear boundaries, and scattered small papules and papulovesicles around, often accompanied by erosion and crusting. If secondary infection occurs, pustules or thick crusts may appear. With proper treatment, the inflammation will be alleviated and the skin lesions may disappear after 2 to 3 weeks, but they often recur and may turn into subacute or chronic eczema.

Acute eczema may not heal for a long time and become subacute, or it may recur after the skin lesions subside. The exudate of subacute eczema is reduced, the surface is crusted, and there are more scales. Chronic eczema can develop from acute or subacute eczema. The exudate has disappeared, but there are lichenification, scaly crusts and pigmentary changes. The severe itching causes intense scratching, which can lead to secondary purulent infection.

Subacute eczema is between acute and chronic eczema. Eczema is often more severe at this time, accompanied by a large amount of exudate and aggravated itching. The white scales gradually disappear and light black skin wrinkles appear. This can stimulate the spread of infection and transform into chronic eczema.

Chronic eczema is often transformed from acute eczema through a subacute stage, but this change process has no clear boundaries, and acute, subacute and chronic manifestations may exist at the same time. For some patients, the initial rash is already chronic eczema. The main manifestations of acute eczema are erythema, scattered or grouped red papules, and blisters that are difficult to see with the naked eye. When there is a secondary infection, pustules may form. In severe cases, there is a lot of exudate, revealing a reddish, moist erosive surface.

After understanding the symptoms of chronic eczema, I believe you can also realize how harmful it is. In order to avoid chronic eczema from harming your body, it is recommended that you pay attention to exercise in your life, and it is best to have a light diet. It is best to eat less irritating foods such as lamb and beef. Especially for friends with allergies, you must pay attention to reducing going out and sun exposure in the spring.
