What are varicose veins?

Varicose veins refer to the phenomenon of tortuosity in the human body's veins. The tortuosity of the blood vessels will affect our blood circulation, so it is recommended that everyone should have a certain understanding of varicose veins in life. When we encounter varicose veins in life, we should treat it in time to avoid causing greater harm to our body. I hope you can discover its existence in time in life.

Varicose veins are mainly caused by patients maintaining the same posture for a long time in their daily life, so we suggest that white-collar friends should walk more often in their daily life to promote blood circulation in the body, which can not only prevent varicose veins, but also help prevent some cervical spondylosis or myopia.

Due to the increase in venous pressure in the lower limbs, a large number of capillaries may proliferate and increase permeability in the foot and boot area, resulting in pigmentation and lipid sclerosis. Due to the accumulation of a large amount of fibrinogen, the exchange between capillaries and surrounding tissues is hindered, which may lead to nutritional changes in the skin and subcutaneous tissue. This is also one of the common causes of varicose veins.

Increased venous pressure may be associated with heavy physical exertion, i.e. prolonged standing. People who engage in heavy physical labor need to use the abdominal muscles when exerting force, which results in increased abdominal pressure. The increase in abdominal pressure will cause temporary or intermittent compression of the lower limb veins, which will affect the centripetal return of the lower limb veins. Excessive venous pressure in the lower limbs occurs simultaneously in the deep and superficial veins of the lower limbs. However, because the deep veins run between developed muscles and are supported and protected by the muscles, varicose veins may occur in the deep veins. The superficial veins located under the skin lack muscle support and protection, and long-term venous pressure increases, causing them to twist and stretch, resulting in varicose veins.

Varicose veins, commonly known as "fried legs", are the most common disease of the venous system. The main cause is due to congenitally weak blood vessel wall membranes or maintaining the same posture for a long time with little change, blood accumulates in the lower limbs, which over time damages the venous valves and causes excessive venous pressure, a symptom of blood vessels protruding from the skin surface. Varicose veins often occur in the lower limbs, but can also occur in other areas such as the scrotal spermatic cord, abdominal veins, and esophageal veins in the stomach.

The article introduces the causes of varicose veins in detail. I hope you can stay away from the influence of these factors in your life, which will be helpful to your physical health. In our lives, we should go out more often and exercise, and not stay in front of the computer for a long time, as this can easily cause varicose veins.
