How to treat genital warts?

Genital warts are always a disease that gives people headaches. Of course, if we get this disease in the early stages, we have to treat it quickly, because it is likely to affect all aspects of your body, such as your reproductive organs, etc. This is not only your own problem, it is also easy to transmit it to your close lover, which will not only cause you pain, but also the one you love. Therefore, when condyloma acuminatum recurs, we must go to the hospital for treatment. Let us learn about some solutions below.

Genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, with proliferative lesions in the anal and genital area as the main manifestation. Most cases occur in young and middle-aged people aged 18 to 50. The disease occurs after an incubation period of about half a month to eight months, with an average of three months. This disease is relatively common and is mainly transmitted through sexual contact.

1. Drug therapy: There are various forms of external medicines for treating genital warts, such as lotions, ointments, and powders. Topical medications for treating genital warts can have a certain effect and are effective in removing surface symptoms, but they have no effect on the viruses in the body and can easily cause skin allergies, redness, swelling, and even ulcers. However, since the root cause of genital warts, the virus, has not been eliminated, genital warts can easily relapse after being treated with topical medications.

2. Electrocautery: Doctors often use high-frequency electric knives or electric soldering irons to burn genital warts and other skin growths. The patient suffers great pain and the operator is required to have high technical skills. Excessive or insufficient cauterization is harmful, and the recovery of electrocautery sores is slow. If aseptic manipulation is not performed during surgery, infection is likely to occur, with a recurrence rate of approximately 22%.

3. Microwave therapy The characteristics of microwave therapy are that the warts are completely destroyed and are not prone to recurrence, but the wound surface recovers slowly and is prone to secondary infection. Therefore, microwave therapy is particularly suitable for treating condyloma acuminatum that is large, isolated, scattered, and must be kept away from the frenulum, because it is easy to damage the frenulum and affect male sexual function.

The above are some ways to treat condyloma acuminatum. These methods are generally used in hospitals, so you don’t need to be too anxious or worried. Just take good care of your body according to the doctor’s instructions and restore it to health. For your own health and the health of your family, I hope you will have an early check-up. After all, the early stages are easier to treat, and the time spent is relatively short. I hope you recover soon.
