The texture is slightly hard or slightly tough, the cross section is slightly flat, with cracks or radial texture, the cortex is light yellowish white to light brown, and the wood is light yellow. It has a special aroma and a slightly sweet taste.

The effect of soaking Codonopsis in water is to nourish the lungs and spleen. When soaking in water, Codonopsis pilosula can be used together with Astragalus membranaceus. Soaking method:

1. Wash Codonopsis pilosula and Astragalus membranaceus, and soak them in cold water.

2. Add appropriate amount of water to decoct Codonopsis pilosula and Astragalus membranaceus. Take the medicinal liquid once every half an hour, decoct for a total of 3 times, and then combine the medicinal liquids.

3. Simmer the combined medicinal liquid over low heat until it becomes thick and sticky, then turn off the heat.

4. After the concentrated liquid has cooled, add sugar to allow it to absorb the liquid medicine and mix evenly.

5. Dry it again, crush it and put it into glass bottles.
