After thousands of years of research and accumulation, the miraculous therapeutic effects of acupoint health care have been sought after by more and more people. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that there are 361 acupoints on the human meridians. If the acupoints outside the meridians are added, there will be thousands of them. It is very difficult for ordinary people to master this knowledge in detail, so acupoint health care seems to be a bit far away from people's daily life. The deputy chief physician of the Massage and Rehabilitation Department of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has summarized 7 important health acupoints that are easy for everyone to remember. Pressing and rubbing them a few times can help you strengthen your body, eliminate diseases and maintain health. Brighten eyes and wake up the brain Wind Pool Traditional Chinese medicine says that Fengchi acupoint is the master of the head and eyes because it can treat most wind diseases. Fengchi point is located at the back of the neck, under the back of the skull, in the depression on the outer edge of two large tendons, level with the earlobe. It is often used in combination with Zanzhu point, temple, Jingming point, Sibai point, etc. to treat eye diseases and relieve eye symptoms. Pressing and rubbing the above acupoints, combined with cervical vertebra correction, has a very good effect on treating myopia. In addition, massaging the Fengchi point and the surrounding muscles can effectively relieve headaches caused by cervical spondylosis, exogenous wind-cold, internal and external wind evils, and neck fatigue caused by working with the head down for long periods of time. During breaks at work, lightly tapping the Fengchi point can help refresh the mind and eliminate fatigue. Yangwei Point Zhongwan The Zhongwan point is located on the midline of the abdomen, at the midpoint of the line connecting the lower end of the sternum and the navel. There will be a feeling of soreness when pressing it. People with poor stomach can press the Zhongwan point frequently. Patients with acute stomach stabbing pain can press the Zhongwan point with their fingers, press for 10 seconds, release, and press again, and repeat this process. The symptoms can be relieved in three to five minutes. Patients with chronic stomach discomfort can press and rub the Zhongwan point, gently rubbing it with the palm of your hand to promote digestion. Patients with acute gastroenteritis can press and rub the Tianshu point (located 2 inches beside the navel) and Daju point (located 2 inches below the navel and 2 inches away from it) in addition to the Zhongwan point for treatment. Kidney-tonifying and Yuan-strengthening acupoints Guan Yuan The Guanyuan point is 3 inches below the navel (approximately the width of four fingers excluding the thumb put together). Pressing and rubbing the Guanyuan point can replenish kidney qi and delay aging. For men, massaging the Guanyuan point can relieve problems such as kidney deficiency, back pain, and hair loss. For women, massaging the Guanyuan acupoint can treat and relieve many gynecological diseases. Before massaging the Guanyuan point, rub your palms to warm them up first, then place your palms on the Guanyuan point on the abdomen and rub it, from light to heavy, until you feel heat. Maintaining the heart point Neiguan Stretch out your arm, palm up, make a fist and lift your wrist. You can see two tendons in the middle of your arm. The Neiguan point is between the two tendons, two finger widths away from the wrist. Pressing and kneading the Neiguan point helps to promote blood circulation. Press vertically downward with your thumb for about 3 minutes each time, until you feel numbness and soreness in the area. In addition to protecting the heart, Neiguan acupoint is also an emergency acupoint. When a patient suffers a sudden heart attack, let the patient lie flat first. While waiting for emergency treatment, massaging the Neiguan acupoint can relieve pain. In addition, massaging the Neiguan point can also relieve headaches, dry mouth, sore throat, cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, lower back pain and other symptoms. Heat-clearing and pain-relieving points Hegu Hegu point, also known as tiger's mouth, is located at the highest point of the raised muscle after the thumb and index finger are closed. Hegu point has the effects of clearing away heat and relieving exterior symptoms, calming and relieving pain, and it has a good alleviating and therapeutic effect on head and facial diseases. Headache, fever, and toothache caused by wind-heat cold, which do not work immediately after taking medicine, can be relieved by acupressure on the Hegu point. The pressure should be enough to feel soreness, numbness, and swelling. If accompanied by fever, you can use a porcelain spoon to scrape the skin on the back of the neck or pull the surrounding skin with your fingers until it turns red and purple. This will help expel heat toxins and reduce fever faster. Acupoints for relieving back pain Weizhong The Weizhong point is located at the midpoint of the popliteal fossa of the knee. Traditional Chinese medicine says that "the waist and back are treated by the Weizhong point". For office workers who suffer from waist, back and shoulder discomfort due to long-term sitting and improper posture, or for the elderly who often feel back pain, frequently pressing the Weizhong point can unblock the Qi and blood in the waist and back. When massaging the Weizhong point, use enough force to feel a slight pain. One press and then release counts as one time. Generally, you can press continuously for about 20 times. It is worth reminding that the low back pain caused by kidney deficiency should be treated by tonifying the kidney. Relaxing muscles and activating collaterals Yangling Spring Yanglingquan is located on the calf. To find it, you should sit still and touch your leg with your hand. There is a protrusion on the outer and lower side of the knee joint, called the head of the fibula. The depression in front and below the head of the fibula is the location of Yanglingquan. Regularly massaging Yanglingquan and exercising your shoulders can relieve pain around the shoulders. In addition, Yanglingquan can also relieve breast pain, rib pain, and intercostal neuralgia. |
