What causes neurasthenia? This is actually an excessive thing!

If we want to effectively treat neurasthenia, we need to pay attention to understand what causes it. Common long-term psychological conflicts and mental trauma, or some infections or poisoning problems, can also cause such adverse symptoms.

Overactive nervous system

Long-term psychological conflicts and mental trauma leading to negative emotional experiences, irregular life, excessive fatigue and lack of adequate rest can all be the causes of this disease. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, my country conducted a large number of investigations and studies on the causes of neurasthenia, and believed that excessive tension in the nervous system was one of the main causes of the disease. The survey data on neurasthenia among people of different occupations by Li Congpei et al. (1959) and Liu Xiehe et al. (1960) showed that the incidence rate was highest among those doing mental work. More than half of the patients reported excessive stress during work or study, mainly mental activities. Not only does the mental activity time last too long, but the work tasks are too heavy; studying or working is difficult. Especially those mental tasks that require particularly strict requirements and high concentration are more likely to cause excessive tension and fatigue.

Infection, poisoning

Malnutrition, endocrine disorders, craniocerebral trauma and physical illness can also be the causes of this disease.

Long-term psychological conflict and trauma

Negative emotional experience caused by long-term psychological conflicts and mental trauma is another common cause of this disease. Inability to adapt to study and work, family disputes, improper handling of marriage and love issues, and tense interpersonal relationships mostly cause contradictions and inner conflicts in the patients' minds and become the source of long-term pain. For example, the sudden death of a loved one, major family misfortune, setbacks in life, etc. can also cause negative emotional experiences such as sadness and pain, leading to neurasthenia.

Life is busy and disorderly

Disruption of work and rest schedules and sleeping habits, as well as lack of adequate rest, result in the inability to recover from tension and fatigue, and are also risk factors for neurasthenia.
