Is aplastic anemia hereditary?

Is aplastic anemia hereditary?

Aplastic anemia is a type of anemia. This disease is related to many factors. Many people want to know whether aplastic anemia is hereditary. There is a certain probability of inheritance for this disease, but the inheritance probability of aplastic anemia is very low, so don't worry.

1. Generally not inherited

Most aplastic anemias are not genetically related. However, in a small number of patients, the onset of aplastic anemia is related to genetic factors, such as Fanconi anemia, familial aplastic anemia, and congenital dyskeratosis. In addition, aplastic anemia can be seen in twins. The incidence of cytopenia in relatives of patients with aplastic anemia is higher than that in the general population. Treatment of aplastic anemia is generally based on Chinese herbal medicine and testosterone, but cortical hormones and blood transfusions may also be used. If the therapeutic effect is not good, you can use other drugs such as nandrolone phenylpropionate, lithium carbonate, cobalt oxide, etc. to stimulate hematopoietic function, which has certain effects on some patients. If it is still ineffective, consider splenectomy and continue conservative treatment after surgery. To prevent aplastic anemia, you should undergo regular physical examinations, seek medical treatment as soon as possible if there are any changes in your condition, do not abuse anti-inflammatory drugs, and promptly treat chronic diseases such as liver and kidney disease, tuberculosis, etc.

2. Genetic probability

There may be a certain degree of heredity, but the probability of inheritance is not high. This depends on the individual's physical constitution and metabolic conditions. In the later stage, you should pay attention to strengthening your physical fitness and immunity, proper nutrition, and regular diet and sleep. Pay attention to rest, keep warm, drink more hot water, eat a reasonable diet, work and rest regularly, relax, supplement vitamins, trace elements and calcium, avoid spicy and cold food, exercise appropriately, get more sun, improve immunity, stay away from noisy environments and the stimulation of tobacco and alcohol, and maintain a good attitude.

3. Others

Aplastic anemia is a bone marrow hematopoietic failure disease, the main manifestations of which are low bone marrow hematopoietic function, pancytopenia, and anemia, bleeding, and infection syndrome. It is generally not inherited. The exact cause of aplastic anemia has not yet been determined, but it is known that the onset of aplastic anemia is related to chemical drugs, radiation, viral infection and genetic factors.
