Is mugwort effective in treating gynecological diseases?

Due to their special physiological structure, women are actually very susceptible to the impact and harm of gynecological diseases. Mugwort can have a certain therapeutic effect and can help women treat dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, abnormal leucorrhea and other problems.

1. Treat dysmenorrhea

50 grams each of angelica, Evodia rutaecarpa, frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, 10 grams of asarum, and appropriate amount of camphor. Usage: First boil Angelica sinensis, Evodia rutaecarpa, cinnamon bark and asarum in water twice. Concentrate the decoction into a paste. 2. Treat irregular menstruation

20 grams of Shixiao Powder, 15 grams each of Angelica sinensis, red peony root, costus root, and white peony root, 10 grams of safflower, 20 grams each of motherwort and hawthorn, and appropriate amounts of ginger juice and rice wine. Grind all the medicines into fine powder and sieve for later use. When using, take an appropriate amount of the medicine powder, add an appropriate amount of ginger juice and rice wine, mix it into a thin paste, fill it into the navel or on the uterine acupoint, apply gauze and then adhesive tape on the outside, and change the dressing once a day.

3. Treatment of amenorrhea

100 grams each of Bupleurum chinense and Cyperus rotundus, 200 grams of Leonurus japonicus, and an appropriate amount of rice wine. Grind the above medicines into fine powder and store it in a bottle for later use. When needed, take 20 grams of the powder, mix it with rice wine to make it thin and thick, apply it to the navel, cover it with gauze, fix it with adhesive tape, and then apply heat, twice a day, each time for 30 minutes.

4. Treatment of metrorrhagia

Equal parts of salt and pollen charcoal, and an appropriate amount of moxa cones. Mix the salt and Puhuang charcoal evenly and store them for later use. When using, fill an appropriate amount of the medicine into the patient's navel, making the medicine slightly higher than the skin. Then place the moxa cone on the medicine surface, light it and apply moxibustion until vaginal bleeding stops.

5. Treatment of leucorrhea

100 grams each of Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, Cimicifuga heracleifolia, Euryale ferox, and Silkworm cocoon, and an appropriate amount of rice wine. Grind the above medicines into fine powder and store in a bottle for later use. When using, take 20 grams of the medicine powder, mix it with rice wine to make a thin paste, apply it on the navel, and then fix it with adhesive tape, once a day. This prescription has the effects of nourishing the kidney and spleen, astringing semen and stopping leukorrhea, and is used to treat leukorrhea caused by deficiency of both spleen and kidney.
