What are the dangers of getting a blocking injection for tenosynovitis?

Tenosynovitis is a type of traumatic inflammation. Generally speaking, pain is a typical symptom. Tenosynovitis is very distressing, and conservative treatment is generally chosen for treatment. Getting a blocking injection is also a treatment method, but long-term blocking injections are still harmful to the body.

1. Tenosynovitis is usually caused by long-term fatigue and other conditions. The early clinical manifestations are pain in the fingers or joints, which may lead to restricted activities over time. Generally speaking, if the symptoms of early patients are only local joint pain, blocked treatment can be considered. Blockade once every few months will not have much impact on the body, but frequent use of this treatment plan may have certain side effects on the body.

2. There are generally no side effects of blocking injections for tenosynovitis, but blocking injections can only be given two to three times, with an interval of more than one week between each injection. Excessive blocking injections will cause side effects, such as local tissue necrosis, osteoporosis, etc. If tenosynovitis occurs, it is best to undergo a small needle knife release surgery for treatment. Do not rely solely on blocked injections. Pay attention to getting more rest, keeping warm and avoiding cold.

3. Blockade injection can only relieve the pain caused by tenosynovitis, but cannot cure tenosynovitis. The treatment of tenosynovitis mainly involves injecting some steroid drugs into the sheath. This treatment method is very effective and can last for a long time. However, if patients with tenosynovitis are treated with blocking injections, it may lead to tendinopathy, and in more serious cases may even cause tendon rupture. Therefore, blocking injections to treat tenosynovitis is not a method that can be used repeatedly. Moreover, if the steroid drugs used in the blocking injection to treat tenosynovitis are used repeatedly, it will be harmful to the body.
