What to do if your nose is allergic to air conditioning?

In summer, the human body is most likely to suffer from allergic rhinitis. In addition, due to the hot weather, air conditioners are turned on in many public places and homes. When people enjoy the cool air brought by air conditioners, it is very likely that their noses will become allergic, which will also cause nasal congestion, runny nose and many other symptoms. So what should we do if our noses are allergic to air conditioners?

First, what should you do if your nose is allergic to air conditioning? Air conditioning is the culprit of rhinitis. The weather is hot in summer, and most people live in air-conditioned environments. The temperature and humidity in the living environment change drastically, which can easily cause acute rhinitis and chronic simple rhinitis. Once the patient does not pay attention to it and does not receive thorough treatment after the onset of rhinitis, it will aggravate the deterioration of rhinitis and is likely to lead to the occurrence of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis.

Second, the wind from the air conditioner may stir up the dust and other indoor allergens on the air conditioner filter, causing people to become ill after inhaling these allergens, causing an attack of allergic rhinitis. Secondly, patients with allergic rhinitis do not receive timely treatment, which causes blockage of the sinus openings, making it difficult for inflammatory substances to drain away. Inflammatory substances carry bacteria into the sinuses, where they are easily retained and multiplied, causing mutual infection between the sinuses and repeated illnesses, leading to sinusitis and other complications. Furthermore, the sinus mucosa of patients with chronic sinusitis has already experienced infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells, and loss of epithelial cilia, which can trigger an acute attack of chronic sinusitis in an air-conditioned environment. In addition, the temperature and humidity inside the air conditioner are relatively suitable, which makes it easy for a lot of mold to grow. When the air conditioner is turned on in a closed room, the mold will be blown out by the wind and enter the human nasal cavity, reducing the resistance of the nasal mucosa to bacteria and causing acute sinusitis.

Third, the antigen substance that stimulates the body to produce IgE antibodies is called allergen. When the allergen enters the nasal mucosa again, it combines with the corresponding IgE and causes an allergic reaction. The allergens that cause this disease are divided into two categories according to the way they enter the human body: inhalation and food.

What should I do if my nose is allergic to air conditioning? Not all plant pollens can cause illness. Only those pollens with large amounts, wide vegetation areas, strong allergenicity and spread by wind are most likely to become allergens. Due to differences in vegetation species, the allergenic pollen in different regions is also different. For example, the main pollen in Northern Europe is birch and timothy; the main pollen in North America is ragweed; the main pollen in Japan is cedar; my country has a vast territory, and the allergenic pollen in different regions is not the same. The northern region is mainly composed of wild wormwood pollen, but ragweed has been found in both north and south of the country, which should be taken seriously. In recent years, some people believe that with the continuous development of industrialization, the concentration of harmful substances such as sulfur dioxide in the air has increased, which can cause the protein structure on the surface of pollen suspended in the air to mutate, making the pollen that was originally non-allergenic also have strong allergenicity. This may be one of the main reasons for the significant increase in incidence.
