Hip pain is a common symptom in the hip joint. There are many reasons for the pain, the most common of which is arthritis. In addition, bursitis and tendonitis can also cause this phenomenon. If you exercise a lot and suffer certain injuries, it will also cause pain in the hip joint. Therefore, you must pay attention to maintenance in your daily life and get enough rest. Causes of Hip Pain: 1. Arthritis Arthritis is the most common cause of hip pain and there are a variety of treatment options, with hip replacement surgery usually a fallback option if conservative treatment fails. 2. Greater trochanter bursitis Greater trochanteric bursitis is a very common cause of myxoinflammation of the lateral hip joint. 3. Tendonitis Tendonitis can occur in any of the tendon tissues surrounding the hip joint. The most common type of tendonitis around the hip joint is inflammation of the tendons of the iliotibial band. 4. Hip labrum tear The labrum is the cartilage tissue surrounding the hip joint. Hip labrum tears are believed to be the cause of the painful feeling in the joint, and hip arthroscopy is usually an effective treatment. 5. Osteonecrosis Osteonecrosis is a condition that occurs when blood flow to an area of bone tissue is restricted. If blood flow is insufficient when it reaches the bone, cells die from lack of nutrition and the bone becomes affected by necrosis. One of the most common places for osteonecrosis to occur is the hip joint (femoral head). 6. Symptoms related to low back pain Many back and spine problems can cause painful symptoms in and around the hips. The most common problems that direct pain to the hip area are herniated discs and sciatica. 7. Hip Syndrome Hip spasticity is a term used to describe three different hip problems. The first problem involves the iliotibial band on the outside of the thigh. The second problem occurs when the hip flexors tighten against the front of the hip joint. The third problem is spasm caused by tears in the cartilage or labrum around the hip joint. 8. Muscle strain Excessive stretching of the muscles around the hip and pelvis can cause pain and cramping. The most common strains are groin muscle pulls and hamstring strains. 9. Hip fracture Hip fractures are a very common injury in elderly patients with osteoporosis. Treatment of a fractured hip requires surgery to replace the damaged part, and metal plates and screws may be considered for repair. 10. Stress fractures Stress fractures of the hip are common in athletes who engage in high-impact activities, such as long-distance runners. Treatment is usually through avoidance of excessive activity. |
