What to do after soy milk poisoning

Drinking soy milk can cause poisoning, which sounds like a very strange thing. If even drinking soy milk can cause food poisoning, then I'm afraid there will be no safe food anymore. Of course, this is not alarmist. The fundamental reason for soy milk poisoning is that it is not fully cooked. So what should you do if you accidentally eat undercooked soy milk? How to find a way to save yourself?

Why does drinking soy milk cause poisoning ? The main reason is that it is not cooked. Uncooked soy milk contains saponins, saponins, hemagglutinins and trypsin inhibitors. Saponins have a strong stimulating effect on the digestive tract, and trypsin inhibitors will hinder the digestion and absorption of protein, thereby reducing the nutritional value of soy milk. Symptoms of soy milk poisoning Common symptoms of soy milk poisoning include abdominal distension, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and in a few cases, diarrhea. Most poisoned people will gradually return to normal within 5 hours after poisoning, but some with severe symptoms may need hospitalization. What to do if you get poisoned by drinking soy milk ? After raw soy milk poisoning occurs, measures should be taken as soon as possible: eliminate the poison, block the absorption of unexcreted poison, promote the excretion of poison as soon as possible, carry out necessary supportive treatment and symptomatic treatment according to the condition, and some poisoned people also need special treatment. Among the above measures, for mild patients, some methods of eliminating poisons can be completed by themselves to avoid worsening of the disease. For those who are severely poisoned, they need to be sent to the hospital in time to take special treatment measures. Methods to eliminate poisons include inducing vomiting, gastric lavage and catharsis. Shortly after vomiting , the poison has not yet been completely absorbed. At this time, vomiting is more effective and the method is simple. The condition for inducing vomiting is that the patient must be conscious. If severe vomiting has occurred after poisoning, there is no need to induce vomiting. There are many ways to induce vomiting. The simplest is to use chopsticks or the handle of a spoon to stimulate the posterior pharyngeal wall (throat) to cause vomiting. In addition, oral emetics are also very effective. You can use any of the following emetics to achieve the purpose: ① Add 10 to 20 drops of iodine to a cup of warm salt water or warm boiled water and mix well. ② One tablespoon of 0.5-1% copper sulfate solution. ③ 30 ml of ipecac syrup.

There are many methods of gastric lavage. For patients who are conscious, they can be asked to drink the gastric lavage solution repeatedly and then spit it out. Potassium permanganate solution stimulates the stomach and can achieve the effect of automatic vomiting. Commonly used gastric lavage solutions are: ① Warm boiled water or 2-4% warm saline or warm soapy water, suitable for poisoning with unknown poison. ② 0.02-0.05% potassium permanganate solution is suitable for all poisonings except 1605 (parathion) poisoning. ③ Strong tea or iodine tincture or 0.2-0.5% activated carbon solution or 0.5-4% tannic acid solution or 1-3% hydrogen peroxide solution, etc., are suitable for biological alkali poisoning. ④ 1-3% baking soda solution, suitable for organophosphorus poisoning (except trichlorfon poisoning). ⑤ 1.5% sodium sulfate solution, suitable for barium salt poisoning.

Patients who have been experiencing intestinal poisoning for a long time or have few episodes of diarrhea may have toxic substances retained in the intestines and should seek medical attention promptly to eliminate the intestinal contents and toxic substances. How to avoid soy milk poisoning? Generally speaking, when raw soy milk is cooked to 80℃-90℃, a large amount of white foam will appear. At this time, many people will mistakenly think that the soy milk is cooked. In fact, this is a false boiling phenomenon. The temperature at this time cannot remove harmful substances in the soy milk, so the soy milk at this time cannot be drunk. The correct way to cook soy milk is: after the raw soy milk starts to boil, continue heating it for 3-5 minutes, and stop heating only after the foam disappears completely. Warm tips: If you experience symptoms of food poisoning such as frequent vomiting, vomiting blood or bloody stools, diarrhea for more than 3 days, fever, dehydration, blurred vision, etc., you must seek medical treatment in time to avoid endangering your health.
