Swelling inside the anus

Swelling inside the anus

Regular bowel movements every day are good for the body's circulation, especially developing the habit of defecating in the morning. However, some people have more serious constipation, so they always feel swelling in the anus, and sometimes bleeding, which is very painful. When defecation becomes difficult, you should pay attention to a lighter diet, try not to eat spicy food, eat more fruits and vegetables, and prevent the occurrence of hemorrhoids.

1. Introduction

Swelling, pain and pus discharge in the anal area is one of the common symptoms of anorectal disease, which mainly refers to swelling and pain around the anus, accompanied by purulent secretions. It is common in perianal purulent infection, perianal cyst, external hemorrhoid inflammation, infection after anorectal disease surgery and cancerous lesions. Anal swelling, pain and pus discharge often cause inconvenience to daily life and work, and if not handled properly, it may lead to the development of the disease.

2. Reasons

1. Pain caused by anal fissure: The pain caused by anal fissure mostly occurs during or after defecation and is cyclical. The pain is usually burning or knife-like, sometimes lasting for several minutes and relieved after defecation. In severe cases, the pain can last for several hours, making the patient restless and extremely painful. In addition, patients with anal fissure also have symptoms such as bleeding and constipation.

2. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids: External hemorrhoid pain is the main symptom. The patient will feel a foreign body sensation and also experience bloating and pain. A thrombosis is formed when the veins around the anus rupture and blood clots gather together. The pain is worse with activity.

3. Perianal abscess: The patient presents with localized suppurative infection and persistent pain in the anus. When the pain worsens, the patient becomes restless, has loss of appetite, and is often accompanied by fever.

4. Internal hemorrhoid incarceration: As the hemorrhoids continue to grow, tissue circulation is restricted and they protrude out of the anus, and the hemorrhoids cannot be retracted. This causes hemorrhoids to be sandwiched in the middle of the anus, which can easily cause infection, inflammation, swelling, and bleeding due to friction from external forces, with symptoms mainly including distending pain and burning pain.

5. Rectal cancer: There is no pain in the early stages of rectal cancer. As the disease progresses, the tumor will grow larger and ulcerate, and symptoms such as anal distension, dull pain, bloody stools, abdominal distension, and weight loss may appear.

6. Foreign body sensation in the anus is mostly caused by residual foreign bodies from trauma or improper diet, or fish bones or bone fragments embedded in the anal canal and rectum. Therefore, you need to ask a doctor to check carefully and remove the foreign body, and the pain will be relieved. If the retention time is too long, it may cause local infection.

3. Common diseases

(1) The main symptoms of perianal suppurative infection are local redness, swelling and severe pain. The disease develops rapidly and pus forms in 3-5 days. The pus is thick, foul-smelling and yellow in color. Severe cases may be accompanied by difficulty in defecation, urination, restlessness, and persistent high fever. Coughing and breathing may even cause severe pain. In another group of patients, the disease progresses slowly, with thin pus containing bean curd-like substances and potential latent cavities. It must be pointed out that most patients with this disease are prone to develop para-anal fistulas over time.

(2) Perianal inflammatory cysts are mostly caused by obstruction of the perianal sebaceous glands, which lead to the accumulation of sebum secretions, and then secondary infection caused by swelling and pain. The swelling and pain of this disease are limited in range, and the pus is in the form of tofu dregs. During surgery, the cyst wall tissue must be thoroughly removed, otherwise it is very easy to recur.

(3) External hemorrhoid inflammation is a common disease. It is mainly because the patient is not treated in time and does not take proper rest after suffering from external hemorrhoids. The friction and irritation of the affected area causes infection, pain, pus discharge, etc.
