Things to note after teeth cleaning

Teeth cleaning, also known as teeth washing, is a common method of whitening teeth. We know that teeth washing and brushing are two different concepts. Teeth washing can remove dental plaque and can deeply clean the teeth. Therefore, teeth washing every once in a while is very beneficial to the health of the teeth. Of course, you should also understand some precautions when washing your teeth. You cannot eat for half an hour after teeth washing.

What is teeth cleaning?

Many people have a conceptual misconception that teeth washing = brushing teeth. Therefore, they think that as long as they brush their teeth carefully 2-3 times a day, each time for 3 minutes, their teeth will be clean, so there is no need to wash their teeth. In fact, teeth washing is not the same as brushing teeth. Teeth cleaning is an operation to clean teeth, which includes brushing and washing teeth.

Daily brushing of teeth is to clean the surface of teeth, such as some food residues, soft plaque, etc., and it can also brush off the dental plaque adhering to the surface of teeth. It is an important part of our daily oral hygiene. However, some dental plaque located in relatively hidden positions cannot be brushed, and long-term accumulation causes calcification and forms dental tartar. Teeth cleaning is to use professional dental cleaning tools to remove the dental tartar remaining on the surface of our teeth and some color stains on the teeth (such as yellow stains on the teeth of long-term smokers, etc.). Therefore, brushing teeth and teeth cleaning are completely different.

What should I pay attention to after teeth cleaning?

First of all, do not eat, drink water, or rinse your mouth within half an hour after teeth cleaning. In other words, do not use your mouth to do anything else except talking.

Within two weeks after teeth cleaning, do not eat too irritating food, including too cold, too hot, or too spicy food. Because after the tartar is cleaned, the dental tissue originally blocked by the tartar will be exposed, and even part of the gums will be exposed. At this time, the teeth are particularly sensitive to stimulation, so be careful not to give the teeth too much stimulation. You can only eat normally after the dental tissue recovers.

Some serious tartar may grow into the gums, so the gums may swell after teeth cleaning. This is normal. Doctors will usually use anti-inflammatory and detumescent drugs, and the swelling will go away in one or two days, so there is no need to worry too much.

Will teeth cleaning hurt my teeth?

Won't. Many people think that the equipment used for teeth cleaning will scratch the surface of the teeth and cause damage to the teeth. In fact, ultrasonic teeth cleaning uses ultrasonic equipment to use high-frequency vibrations to loosen and fall off dental plaque. It does not directly scratch the surface of the teeth, so it will not cause serious damage to the teeth. In addition, the surface of the teeth will be polished at the end, so teeth cleaning will not cause damage to the teeth.
