What causes dry tongue coating?

What causes dry tongue coating?

You often feel that your mouth is dry, astringent and bitter. This is a problem with your tongue coating, because changes in the tongue coating determine how our taste changes. When the tongue coating is dry, the surface of the tongue is mostly dry, and the amount of secretions in the mouth will also decrease. This situation requires special attention.

[concept]

There is coating on the tongue, the coating lacks fluid and is dry, or the tongue is shiny and has no coating, and it looks dry and feels dry and astringent. This is called "dry tongue".

This disease is different from "bright tongue". "Bright tongue" is when the tongue is smooth and has no coating, with or without saliva. The identification of bright tongue should be combined with the tongue quality. The identification of this disease mainly depends on the surplus or deficiency of saliva on the tongue surface.

People with nasal congestion and mouth breathing tend to have a dry tongue, so you should pay attention to the difference.

Dry tongue is often accompanied by thirst, and is called "dry mouth and tongue". This section should be referred to in conjunction with the "thirst" section.
